    watching that made me feel slightly better about the game, looking forward to it now.

    Linearity and lack of randomness are Fable's biggest weak points IMO. With those things amended it would be a better game for it.

    I'm cheap too, Peter, call me.

    Need more information on the DOG!!!!

    Looks lovely again, it's nice to see they haven't completely stepped away from the last game. Some of the news recently was getting a bit worrying that they were maybe mixing it up a bit too much. Very exciting.

    Looks good!

    Why's Simon got Sealife Safari in the background though? :)

    Ouch - i was worried when I read that the combat was being made simpler but seeing as it looks so brutal I don't think I'll mind!

    Not sure about the angel wings business, but otherwise, I'm excited about Fable 3.

    @butler`
    I disagree, I'd hate to see Fable turn into an open world/Elder Scrolls clone. I much prefer it's smaller, more detailed environments.

    What it does need is more depth, I really liked a lot of the ideas Fable II brought to the table. Having your own family, needing to get a job to earn money at the start, etc. But almost all of these things had little impact on anything and featured boring mini games.

    So it's smaller and more detailed but lacks depth? I think you said it yourself.

    And randomness (items, areas) can go a long way to enriching the game without expanding it necessarily.

    I don't care about the negativity and whatever Molyneux may have failed to deliver in the past. This looks awesome, and I can't wait to play it.

    Fable 3, walk places and do stuff while people say things at you. Goodie.

    @butler`
    I was refering to the environments, they were smaller than something like Oblivion, but still fairly wide open. Fable 2 gave you a good sense of exploration and wonder, without having the flat, randomly generated terrain with little to do or look at of Oblivion/Fallout 3.

    The actual gameplay mechanics, like the job system needed more depth.

    I just think if it opened up a bit - even as simple as being able to choose from two distinct directions to head instead of just ploughed down the same route - would go a long way.
  • Hantheman #18 2 years ago

    Does Peter know there's more to a game than having it mould to your conscious? You know, like game mechanics?
  • kongzi #19 2 years ago

    if mass effect is a new ferarri, fable is your mate's Citroen with the spoilers, big stereo, racing seats and the 1.0 liter diesel engine that misfires a lot.. but hey, it's still a damn good adventure to drive around some rainy business estate!!! Just press A rhtymically to powerslide..
  • penhalion #20 2 years ago

    If they are somehow simplifying this MORE than fable 2, then it's going to just sit there and play itself surely. For me fable 2 was the most disapointing sequel in a long time. Especially the stupid conversation system, which was most likely done to avoid having to write dialog for the characters in the world or the rediculous short game that you could finish in a matter of hours.

    Complete rip off in my book and sorry Mr Molyneux but, I'm not touching fable 3 with a bargepole.
  • seandog #21 2 years ago

    "who's gorra bargepole??"

    Enjoyed Fable 2, will probably pick this up after its been out a couple of months!!
