I didn't really like Fable. I thought the combat was ropey and it needed a lot more polishing before it should've been released.

I'm hoping this game is a bit better, and hopefully MS take the time to ensure it's up to scratch, since they own the developer and the series now.

So, what I think Peter was trying to say is, you control a dog...

There is a lot of very dodgy facial hair going on at Lionhead. I like their ideas, but they really are a very pretentiously bearded bunch of people. With the exception of Molyneux. He doesn't need it.

NO CONTROL OVER THE DOG. NO. CONTROL. OVER. THE. DOG.

    You're crazy, Pete. Cra-zy.

The game world looks utterly gorgeous. I thought Fable was superb from start to finish, sure it was way too short and missing so many features promised. But it was still brilliant.

Fable 2 will be special. Love the no control over dog, that is going to be a source of frustration, joy and sadness if the poor little tyke dies while defending his mistress as she performs heroic deeds in only her Bra. "Oooo it's Chicken kicker"

I'm really excited about this, despite the rather exaggerated hype Molyneux always creates.

Dude. Looks like you're controlling the dog to me... through gestures etc. Gestures which require you to press buttons.

See, when I make gestures, I don't press a button. I just make a gesture.

    Am... am I missing something?

Messing aside, that is one cool dog.

  • mazzl #8 5 years ago

if i just abuse the dog, will it eventually turn against me?

Loved Fable 1.. this one looks cool as well. I think I just loved the art style... it always reminded me of my speccy days (yeah I know!). The light in this game looks pretty amazing.

Note to Lionhead: if you have no hair... cut off your pony tail!

I loved fable... indeed was way too short, and i dont think it had much replay value.. but enjoyed it when i did play... hope this is going to be amazing it certainly looks it...

Yes you control a dog, via your character... dont that mean you do have control over the dog... im confussed
  • SeanLB #11 5 years ago

Molyneux has them all well honed, they all speak Pete style.
  • Calgon #12 5 years ago

Well you're not directly controlling the Dog... gestures were in the first game, didnt feel like you controlled the people did it now?

    CONTROL>OF>DOG? >NO....

:D Somethin tells me Eurogamer put it together like that on purpose, funny though.
"thats mental man.... no dog button?"
  • ZuluHero #13 5 years ago

does this mean im going to spend half the game trying to get the bloody dog to follow me?

Can i KILL. THE. DOG? :p

    'Love is...'

Telling all your mates not to touch a Lionhead game.

    The End.

    This is farcical

Assumption seems to be that none of their players have any emotional life and will be in awe of the new unknown feelings they experience when an overgrown tamagotchi wags at them

We will turn games into art and make you feel new emotions. how patronising

The thing that should be appreciated is that they have the money and the resources to make something innovative and they do go in that direction instead of just simply releasing an expansion pack for fable 1 and packaging it as 'fable 2'. Not many developers do that nowadays, almost all of em play it safe.

About the dog-control thingie.. think about your dog. In the beginning you can't really make her do things with one direct command, but as you TRAIN her to do things you want her to do, you kinda begin to control her. That's the innovation behind the dog feature in fable 2 i think, training the AI to behave as you like. And that does feel more real than just selecting a command in the menu.

That engine footage at the end and the music = HUGE smile on my face :)

I'm looking forward to Fable 2. I really loved the combat system of Fable 1...it was definately not button mashing...l loved rolling out of the way as my enemy combatant swung at me...and then hitting them while their weapon was still swinging in the air.

And I'm excited about the love.

Not so excited about the dog. I find dogs overly needy.

But, looking forward to the game nonetheless!

wow that lionhead studio almost looks real, look at the facial animations on those developers - think Molyneux finally has a game worth getting excited about o.O

"Gamers, Casual gamers and everything have seen the dog and instantly said THAT'S A DOG!"

Nowai? Meh, am just a little cynical about it at the moment. The ideas for the game are grand yet they're hinting that you'll still have to effect someone's "love level" by doing the "sexy" expression... albeit this time you'll go on walks with them afterwards *snigger* The sentiment's a good one "create feelings for a character", it's not impossible like - children get attatched to Furby's and Tamagotchi's etc, the problem is the majority of gamers who play this won't be children. I'm all for suspending disbelief in a game but if they're trying to create love for a specific character but still blocking you off from visible areas with annoying clipping or making you fight the same bandit spawns over and over again then it's not going to work :-( Prove me wrong Molyneux!

"Gamers, Casual gamers and everything have seen the dog and instantly said THAT'S A DOG!"

I actually would have said it was a parrot

PS. Shut up about the f**king dog Pete just leave it
  • peeetah #22 5 years ago

Good lord I do not care if a video game loves me or not! Am I emotionally dead or am I sane?
  • JayPee #23 5 years ago

"I don't go out with my dog and a button".

But you may, or may not have:
    A leash (detachable or not).
    A whistle
    Treats

These are all things used to control a dog. Without these things it would be impossible to own a dog.

Stop spouting you tools! Now finish the game so I can enjoy it and play it to death like I did the first.
