    That Red Bull front wing didn't look flexible enough for me ;)

    Looks gooood.

    In the most accurate sim mode, if you play as Massa and are in the lead you get lots of hints that Alonso is faster than you.

    No demo, no flexing front wing on the Red Bulls...

    EDIT: There, pedants... no 'fail' now

    fuckin ace. Looking forward to this.

    Codies FTW
  • Spekingur #7 2 years ago

    Looks very nice.
    And as always, Codies put nice music in their trailers.
  • tachometer #8 2 years ago

    Always a bad sign when the framerate drops even in the trailers!!
    You'd have thought they'd edit that out.
    Looks like they've bodged a load of "it'll do" F1 car models into a 3 year old game!
    NO THANKS

    It looks good, but as pretty much always with racing games it's impossible to tell anything about the one thing that can make or break any racing game - the handling model/car physics.
    As I've said in previous F1 2010 though, I think Codemasters did a pretty good job with DiRT 2 - not a pure sim by a long shot, but the cars felt great with both steering wheel and gamepad. The handling model in GRID was pretty dreadful though, so I'm certainly hoping they are taking a cue from the former rather than the latter.

    But if all else fails there's always the 2009 Williams F1 coming to iRacing in a few months :).

    Hang on sec, pointing out that there's no demo for this is a reason to neg someone? I want to play it before I buy it - I've not been won over by any of Codies recent driving games (the handling always seem to pivot around the centre of the car and just not 'feel' right).

    Why no demo? One track, one car, 15 minute practice session... that's all it would need. I'd feel a LOT happier about buying the game if I knew how it played. I don't really want to wait until it hits the bargain bins, but right now that's my plan.

    As a games developer of 16 years, I really want to support my industry with my hard earned cash - I just want to know that I'll like what I'm buying.

    we would all like a demo. i suspect you've been marked down for your use of the word 'fail'
  • tachometer #12 2 years ago

    Yes, the lack of a demo speaks volumes, I expect very late reviews for this one too!

    In the most accurate sim mode, if you play as Mclaren you can steal your competitors' blueprints and get away with major infractions with the least possible consequences.

    @PS_2010:
    Saying it once and getting a lot of negs was not enough, you had to delete it and try again?
  • superdelphinus #16 2 years ago

    Is it true that if you are Alonso the blue button is expecially reserved for whining?
  • rotmm #17 2 years ago

    @TeaFiend,

    Now I have to delete my post and repost it for context :/
  • rotmm #18 2 years ago

    @PS_2010,

    Perhaps you failed to notice that, aside from just having pretty car models, the F1 game will have actual (as opposed to "let's stick to the driving line) AI implemented, as well as a dynamic weather system.

    And though not shown in the video, I'm pretty sure that F1 will have realistic collision physics, unlike GT5Pingpong.

    GT5 is a driving simulator. Titles such as Forza and F1 are going for the racing simulator market.

    Edit: Repost

    *wonders if the 24th September is just after the deadlines for magazine publications.... to give the maximum chance for the game to sell before the bad feedback comes in?

    Very disappointed with the lack of demo, and also with the confirmed lack of DLC as they are moving straight on to the 2011 game!!

    Gone from excited, to apprehensive and now to concerned!! Still want this to be great, but just not feeling entirely optimistic yet??
  • darkos87 #21 2 years ago

    I hope for them it's releasing before 2nd November. This game looks absolutely atrocious when you compare it to the GT 5 e3 2010 trailer. If you were to compare the two, you would say this one was done on the ps2.

    @Tio It's Chase and Status - End Credits
  • jonse1977 #26 2 years ago

    Looking forward to this game. Only concern is I haven't seen any video of collisions - I hope the physics for this isn't lame.

    I can't wait to crash one of these racing rockets at 200+ mph ... Im pretty shure physics on this game are going to be pretty immersive...

    @Sniper_007: "Very disappointed ... with the confirmed lack of DLC as they are moving straight on to the 2011 game!!"

    It's a sad state of affairs that people are now griping for game with added DLC somewhere down the line. At least the Codies are honest and don't want to nickle & dime the game to add some car skin packs. After all, they tried it with GRID and nobody cared so they've moved past that insipid business model.
  • LukehMuse #29 2 years ago

    Apparently Codies wanted to do a demo but the license doesn;t allow them to do so. Same old restrictive Bernie.
  • Helios_CM #30 2 years ago

    Hi all,

    Just so you know first reviews for the game should be out in early/mid September, way before the actual release of the game :)
