    I'm not normally one to say this, but i wish it wasn't JUST coming out on 3DS :(

    Also, as an aside, 0.59 seemed a little bit too close to WTC collapse.

    EDIT: Keyword there was "just". I was only saying because I'm a huge RE fan and the direction on the consoles isn't the way i'd hoped the series would go. While this doesn't look like a return to form, this does look closer to RE4, which is where I draw the line in REs evolution.

    I wasn't saying this to rob the 3DS of its exclusivity, it was just one fan's wishful thinking. Out loud :)

    GamesTM just gave this 6/10 in their latest issue, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for anything good.

    Want this, but I'll wait for the first reviews to come in before I order it. Especially as I'm not sure if you'll need that awfull extra stick to be able to play it without chores

    Interesting that Jill was swimming under water, new dynamics there.
  • roz123 #5 4 months ago

    @darkmorgado: Did you read that review? Because the text was very positive for a 6/10.

    Platform exclusives are everywhere, and why 3DS shouldn't have those too?!

    Developed from ground up for a certain platform to take full advantages of the features are always among the best. Ie Uncharted, Super Mario 64 and so on.

    Though it may be possible Capcom would later port the game, happened before but I m glad of my 3DS as good games lately and will get my winter dark evening gaming hours properly serviced!

    Last year it was Dead Space 2 and Silent Hill delayed and my annual scare/thriller addiction rest on this game, and thankfully not Amy!

    Well this certainly looks more interesting than the Racoon City game. Still not enough to get me to buy a 3DS though...
  • darkmorgado #8 4 months ago

    @roz123

    I read it, and it didn't seem very positive to me. Gubbins story, bad structure, shallow, shatters immersion, "almost feels as if it was designed with the attention span of the average ios gamer", "tiring repetition of the same few enemies", "uninspired boss battles".

    Hey this reminds me: wasn't the 4th Resident Evil movie about a ship?

    The movie was so bad that I forgot about it.
  • roz123 #10 4 months ago

    Choice quotes, it was up on the gamesTM website before but was taken down and most people who read it agreed that it was mostly positive.
  • johnson81 #11 4 months ago

    Reviews seem to be all over the place at the minute. I'll beat the game and then probably sell it if it's bad. At least it's only cost me £33 with the circle pad, which isn't bad considering the circle pad is £15 on its own.
  • darkmorgado #12 4 months ago

    They didn't say it played like an ios game, but that it's structured in a way leads to stops and starts. It's broken down into little "episodes", with an (apparently) unskippable "previously on..." bit at the start of every one. The Games review says this leads to shallow, uninvolving gameplay only suited to people with short attention spans and that the catch-up bits are "patronising at best, tedious at worst".
  • TonyHarrison #13 4 months ago

    Episodic gameplay on a handheld game makes perfect sense to me. I've always favoured handheld games that can be played in short bursts.

    Some people, however, want to see exact console experiences crammed into a handheld. Those who do would hate episodic gameplay.

    Sorry but as an avid Resi fan i am not impressed in the slightest. I must suck up on it it seems. The last truly good Resi game was 4. I dont like how they changed the whole concept of arcane + science + demonic feeling of old into a mere "terrorist" category. I already own a 3DS but this...meh.
  • BellyFullOfHell #16 4 months ago

    @darkmorgado
    Of course, because the average iOS gamer certainly doesn't play anything like Monkey Island, Chaos Rings or, say, DonPachi. Dear oh dear oh dear.
  • eviroboy #17 4 months ago

    @darkmorgado So it's just like all the other later RE games then. This is the direction games are going in, sadly. No-one wants long sessions or games that particularly tax them, that's why I still play on the SNES. Proper games.
  • dadrester #18 4 months ago

    @BellyFullOfHell To be fair to @darkmorgado, he is just quoting the GamesTM review. Got to say the trailer makes it look quite interesting.

    I agree with @JAGUARCD32x on Peace Walker. It was a perfect fit for a handheld that felt like a "proper" MGS game but could easily be played in short bursts if you wanted.

    I guess it's all in the execution, and the "previously on..." bits sound like they've not been implemented very well. I would wait for a review, but since I don't have a 3DS and don't plan on getting one any time soon I don't have to worry.

    EGDE were pretty unflattering, too. Though they did say the cruise liner section was super.

    I'm just a sucker for Resi, though, so this is a certain purchase for me.

    makes me glad i bought the 3ds not so long ago.. oh wait haven“t seen reviews yet..
  • Street89 #21 4 months ago

    Seems the Zombies of Resident Evil are negging all the comments today.
  • Street89 #22 4 months ago

    @darkmorgado http://www.metacritic.com/game/3ds/resident-evil-revelations Interesting that everyone else so far has given it 9/10. Good job I checked this though! nearly cancelled my order :)
  • Kostas #23 4 months ago

    I love it when i get mimus votes from overexcited youths. Hurt me plenty!
  • FenderMaster #24 4 months ago

    whats with all the negs in this topic? This is why the +/- system on this site is so awful, it's pretty much just a tool for fabnboys to bury comments that don't ally wit their own opinions.
  • darkmorgado #25 4 months ago

    @Street89

    Only three other reviews there. And one of them is GamesMaster (snigger), and another is Nintendo Power, a single-format magazine whose reviews aren't exactly known to be reliable.
  • kinky_mong #26 4 months ago

    Just as well Famitsu gave it 39/40 then.
