But you know, while it's great news that the game is FINALLY finished, the interview does reveal that the priority with the game was 1080p rather than gameplay and framerate. I mean did no-one think: "Hey, we can do 720p @ 60 fps"? Why run before you can walk? LOL

Well, they were consciously trying for 30fps at 1080p (or vice versa), so framerate WAS always an issue. Nice they could up it to 60.
And it's Wipeout, so take the gameplay as read, right?
