Yea, some in game footage now please. This game needs to prove it can be actually different from WoW, and needs to demonstrate this difference pronto. I love the universe, but I can't help but feel they have every chance of getting steamrollered by thier bastard offspring Blizzzard.

Nevermind the fact that Warhammer has been around for over 20 years and the fact that many modern fantasy games/novels (such as WoW) take many aspects from Warhammer's lore.
So, please, don't bother releasing a game based on over two decades of solid background story, that is and will continue to be popular amongst literally millions of gamers around the world. No, give us a "new concept" like oh so many of the other upcoming mmo's are doing.

And let's be honest, if you played Dark Age of Camelot you will know how well and truly they were owned by World of Warcraft. Blizzard came at it from an actual game creator's perspective and took the MMO genre and removed all the unfun stuff.
Mythic, if you played DAOC you'll remember, basically thrived in all the un-fun stuff and they had absolutely no technical ability at all. Their USP was the PvP side of things but they hadn't thought to create an engine that COULD render hundreds of people in the same scene. So a typical PvP battle was not so much frames per second, as seconds per frame.
I hate to be a wowser (ho ho) but seriously, from gameplay, content and technical ability standpoints - Mythic have yet to demonstrate anything to grovel at the boots of World of Warcraft. And here we are we a trailer with no in-game footage. Surprise surprise.
My overriding thought after watching this trailer was - hey, bring on Warcraft the Movie.

Pity there is no actual game footage in it, but its to be expected this early really. I'm sure there will be others along in due course.

And sometimes a little subtlety can do much more, that Mark of Chaos trailer proved it (as the magnificent Brood War intro did too).

I've been subscribed to WoW since release, yet I and many other players I know are watching Warhammer Online closely. If it turns out to be good then I have no problem switching game. They don't need to do anything revolutionary in the gameplay, just make it more skill rather than time based in the pvp side, and less of a repetitive grind-fest on the pve side than its competitors.
WoW is horribly flawed in the pvp in that getting epic pve gear and spending hours and hours in a week playing has too big an impact -with player skill being totally secondary. That and they still only have 3 tactically limited battlegrounds when they were hyping this side of the game up since before release.
It does seem like they've been given a kick up the arse to revamp things in the Burning Crusade, taking out the intensive weekly time requirement to rank, but I don't hold out much hope that they will be able to balance that side of the game enough, and getting people to repeat instances but at difficulties scaled to their level doesn't thrill me on the pve side either.

Any many of the story cutscenes in Warcraft 3 for that matter. Blizzard are masters of FMVcraft.

I await a demo of this with great interest, this might even tempt me to start paying MMO costs if it's good. Although I do think they're missing a trick not releasing a Blood Bowl game.
