At the risk of getting into a semantic discussion about the definition of a learning, imo basic controls like aiming should NOT have a learning curve to them. Controls should be as intuitive and seamless as possible to get to grips with.
How you USE the controls to make progress through the game can have a learning curve of course. Getting quicker and developing better tactics is part of the experience.
But if I play a shooter and I can't simply put bullets into targets in a way that feels like I am in control... that is just a poor control system.
It does sound in this case however as if the demonstrator was just a bit cack handed.

Hmm. Again this sort of talk just rings alarm bells in my head. Auto aim exists because aiming systems aren't perfect. If I play a game, I don't want to struggle with the controls 'cos thats not fun. If that make me lazy... well so be it.
Anyway, I don't want to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I'll await a demo or something and zip it on the metter for now
