  • pauleyc #4 6 years ago

That looks awesome! Especially that "finishing touch"...I like it already! :-D
  • Shrui #5 6 years ago

    so single commander like TA?
similar looking angular desing to units like TA?
similar mix of different unit types like TA?

Overall TA with a next gen graphics paint job?

    BRING IT! :D

(but why did it take so long?)

Total Anihilation was the best rts ever (apart from maybe starcraft) so this is going to be incredible. Now i just need to buy a supercomputer to play it... imagine the slowdown!
  • symmetry #7 6 years ago

    That was fucking great!

    FUCKING GREAT!

Except of course you just don't get those kind of naval engagements any more.

With the invention of fighter bombers, submarines and cruise missiles, naval engagements and just about always 'stand-off' battles with the 2 battlegroups usually not even coming in sight of each other.

But then, that would be boring.

    Just ... incredible!

    can. not. wait.
  • Gl3n #10 6 years ago

Whoa.. looks amazing :| C&C3 is going to have a hard time beating that.

Big thanks to EGTV for the recent glut of awesome footage :D

It does look absolutely stunning, but its gonna have to have an absolutely stunning AI for controlling your troops. Theres no way you can possibly be expected to be controlling everything thats happening across the entire map. If you're zoomed in fighting a battle in one area, you need to be able to trust that the AI will be able to handle itself in other areas whilst your away.

    Freakin' sweet!

But yea, there will need to be a very good AI/control system on hand to help the player co-ordinate all those forces. Part of the fun is never having enough control over all your units to be clinical, so I can't to wait see how they've balanced total carnage and mayhem with a thoroughly playable RTS.

And there's the nuke at the end for all those who wanted it. Brilliant!

Now I just need a new computer to play the game. Any one want to give me some no strings attached money?
  • JediMasterMalik #13 6 years ago

Thats incredible, I want it now.

Thank FUCK they improved the framerate from the last trailer. :)
  • neuroniky #14 6 years ago

I was already overhyped after seeing the last trailer, but this is totally awesome. I want this NOW!!!!! Best of the show for me.
  • prettyboytim #15 6 years ago

    That looks fabulous!

Gotta say though, I'm not a big fan of the 'health-bar' style-damage - that red crawler that was getting seven shades of shit blown out of it for about a minute didn't seem to suffer any damage at all until it at last blew up. I'd far rather it had a visible depleting shield or something like that, and once you got through the shield you could see the damage being done to it...

    But yeah - very cool!

Really looking forward to it, though I have to say that it doesn't really look that different to TA except for being prettier and having bigger maps...

Also I'm not clear why EG is saying this trailer is exclusive, since GameSpot is running the exact same thing on their site... ;)
  • Macross #17 6 years ago

/remembers 8 hour long epic battles on the biggest TA maps at Uni...

I so cant wait for this to come out, I hope that the same insane scale can be achieved completely I remember there was nothing quite like the sight of 5 vulcan cannons all going full whack with stupid numbers of units getting oblitorated in an instant. god bless that mod that got rid of the unit cap :)

"I'm not clear why EG is saying this trailer is exclusive, since GameSpot is running the exact same thing on their site... ;) "

I think they mean 'UK exclusive'

  • Smugglarn #19 6 years ago

    Looks fantastic!

Although, I can't help but wonder would it would be like if this was a Battlefield game...

Now wouldn't that be something. :D
  • Ryuken #20 6 years ago

Brilliant stuff and nice catch EG.
  • StixxUK #21 6 years ago

    Looks good, when's it out?
  • Collie #22 6 years ago

Well if you'd watched the whole thing you'd see that it says, 'Early 2007'.
  • WrongShui #23 6 years ago

Bah they only showed a bit of the nuke.

    Looked awesome in screenshots.

Does look great, but I'm still wondering what the HUD will look like and exactly how you're meant to control that many units effectively. Since I'm not a big RTS player, I hope it's not too confusing and daunting...!
