    Is it just me (and I'm not trying to stir up trouble here) or does that look really ugly. The graphics are way below what I was expecting.

    Maybe not so great looking but smooth and a lot of stuff happening. Gameplay seems a bit "meh" though. I usually do not like shooters where you have to shoot baddies 10000 times (yes I am looking at you Raam!).

    Luckily not all enemies take that long and other classes actually encourage you too move around.

    It looks a lot better when you actually play it compared to looking at a poor quality video clip.

    I'm currently playing and enjoying the beta. Let me assure all of you that this game looks A LOT better in real life than on this shitty quality video.

    its plays how it looks ugly !!! co-op is just a mash of aliens an bullet no co ordination where to go or what to do and stupid damage meters

    online 60 player is even worse full of bugs like the famous unlimted health bug for players and silly damage reactions again just a frenzy of bullets and lazers

    your life span is no more than 5 feet in any direction without dying and your enemys is plus 30 clip of wraith and 45 grenades.

    if this is resistance ... theres no point in even fighting it to be honest might aswell let chimrea take over and win.

    Erm no it doesn't.

    Still I did find coop to be quite fun, unfortunately the classes are stupdily unbalanced atm.

    On the beta from IGN,it's not bad, but definitely only a sub £20 title - I was back on Warhawk by the next day.

    but with the amount of stuff on screen, shouldnt it looks a tad ugly? Maybe the single player game will look much better???

    Xerx3s. I actually didn't like the first game. I thought the single player was boring and multiplayer was horrible. The beta on the strength of multiplayer alone has sold me the game. The controls have been tightened, the pace of the game toned down a bit. It just plays better all round. It's not just a cluster fuck of spawn camping, dying in one shot in a congregated mess any more.

    played for about 10 mins and is totally rubbish - just a mad scramble to kill the enemy before you are killed - withing 10-15 seconds usually. The graphics are very very bad - certainly not as good as you would expect in this Hi-DefD era... avoid! I've cancelled my pre-order already.

    Having to shoot someone that much with a minigun to kill them in a multiplayer match seems a little excessive, is that a human controlled character he is shooting at or just something for target practice?

    The Beta looks a load better when u actually play it...sorry but this low def vid wont do it justice at all..playing the beta all the time and it's a lot better than res fom 1..But as they say the choice is yours..miss it ,miss out... lol

    There are to many idiots on here who have not played the co op and are commenting. We have gone back to the 'oh graphics are important' .The co op on this is class and forces team play which works really well and contrary to some people (Mr-Bozzey) who posted somewhere above there are directions and objectives all clearly laid out. If your poor at gaming or have no friends to play with then don't post. Your comments sound like someone who played for five minutes got killed a few times, had a cry, kissed his 360 and went to look for a forum to post in. I have had over five hours on the co op with friends and it's great fun. Sorry but I'm sick of reading things from people who lack detail and patience. P.S to all the technical geniuses out there, if you think having huge maps, hundreds of enemies on screen and loads going on can be produced with high res textures please apply to Sony gaming division and show us how it's done. Gears 2 looks good yes but how many online? Rant over.

    I guess whoever made the video didnt do a very good job! Certainly doesnt look like fun in multiplayer.

    I have the BETA, believe me, it is an absolutaly amazing game, possibly the best even over Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare!

    In my opinion, Killzone 2 sounds like its going to do EVERYTHING this can do, but so much better (bar the 60 people thing). Spontaneous objectives, squads etc... but on top of that a glorious graphical engine.

    R2 just isn't doing enough to hit my radar for me. I'm sure R2 will get a good wadge of fans but its K2 all the way at the moment.

    Once you've played a 60 player Skirmish game at Orick enough times to realise quite how much the game is managing to pull off with lag-free 60 player gaming with players spread across continents, with native 720p graphics and crazy amounts of geometry and awesome weapon mechanics, well balanced playabilty - in short this game is huge and incredibly fun. What you see here is a low quality video of the very first encounter in coop, which is just designed to get you used to the game a little. There are 5 different paths through which you can approach the next batch of enemies (I explored in offline play), and so far I've only ever seen one path being used yet.

    This game isn't Killzone, but of course it isn't - Kilzzone is already coming, and Resistance offers something else entirely (well,not entirely obviously, but it's clear these two shouldn't have the same strengths!). No game exists out there that does what it does as much of and as well as Resistance, controlling so well, having such great netcode, etc. IMHO, but then what do I know. I've had to stop playing the beta because I got too addicted and I don't have time for getting that addicted right now! (5 month old baby with a cold, holiday and travel coming up)

    like i said before, im not amazed that this is the tittle that was so expected for PS3.. Looks bad, cheap Halo 3 shield immitation btw which makes it worse :p and really really bad looking game :/

    This certainly is not a most beautiful shooter, but on another hand it's probably not ment to be. Have anyone with a hd television noticed that if you untick 720p and 1080i from ps3 display settings ps3 will upscale it to 1080p.

    The beta is absolutely brilliant fun. I've played 40 and 60 player games and there is no noticeable lag whatsoever. It's a staggering achievement IMO and makes the battles actually feel like battles not skirmishes. The visuals are also a massive improvement on the first game with better textures, a rock solid framerate *and* colour! Yep, the developers remembered to add colour to Resistance 2! :)

    having played it at the eurogamer expo, i'll agree its not a very pretty game, but it does have a large amount of detail, but once drawn in the gameplay speaks for itself, its not really something that you can enjoy from the passengers seat. it is also clear that many improvements have been made over the first game.
    though after playing mirrors edge not being able to free run did feel a bit weird. still gotta love that magnum that fires bomb darts, the alternate fire blows up said dart.

    Normally, I would have something to say on this matter but having played it and thinking Gears 2 is a piece of overhyped shit... I totally agree with muzzer. End of.
