Exclusive: Left 4 Dead gameplay

Published 10 November, 2008 Duration 13:08

The night of the infected is nearly upon us. And it is always the night, isn't it? When the bloody zombies decide to get up and start causing a racket. They're like our neighbours in that respect, although we suspect that our neighbours get through more ouzo and cheap lager.

    Pros:

    Zombies
    Team-play
    Zombies

    Cons:

I guess you carry infinite ammo packs on your back...
Trigger finger speed of a god
    Weapons dont seem very satisfying

So let me guess: you're RELOADING! aren't you?
  • Mercatoria #6 3 years ago

Zombies didnt seem to be doing much.... What's the appeal?
  • Daymare #7 3 years ago

    RELOA--

/gets riddled with bullets, stabed in the face, raped with a shotgun, quartered, blasted with grenades and burned to ashes by teammates

    /kicks the ashes and spits

Looks like they are playing on easy or normal. If you rack it up to advanced or expert the waves come in thick and fast, and you're in for a challenge. On easy they could have got through with zero damage if it wasn't for team damage.

Cons - Teamplay (though apparently you can play with computer controlled players) (havent read much about the game, just like zombie movies).
Cons - Reloading .... ah hope it doesnt do that every time you reload.

hmm, nice environments, but... nothing new.
(i was hoping for some fairly high levels of realism)
    shame

I'm actually very disappointed. It looks more like a *very* generic shooter than a survival horror, in respect to weapons and such... It seems to be all about spraying (or triggering) like a effing madman without much thought (like, say, staying calm and NOT firing like a madman when in a pinch, and actually hit something). And the sound's pretty boring aswell...

I guess I too had hoped for much more realism.. I'm glad I didn't pre-order or anything, have to see all the cards on this one..

Brilliant. I particularly liked the way the video quality was shite, and the zombies seemed to stand there and wait to be shot. First class.
  • themorganator #13 3 years ago

did you even watch the video until the end??

This looks rubbish, the big-ass zombie in particular was very dissapointing, it's the standard run backwards pumping the enemy full of bullets affair.
  • E-Raz0r #15 3 years ago

omg you can run through your teammates.

It's all spray'n'pray. I hoped it would be more like a survival shooter with less ammo, more horror and more realism.

    Shame.

Looks pretty good to me but i agree not really a survival horror but more of a fps... hope that the storyline will make the difference, if there is one

No regular people would continue to shout Reloading at each other.
  • Tenaflyviper #18 3 years ago

    He must have OCD.

I wished, for the sake of realism, when you reloaded you lost all the unspent bullets in that clip, so as to make it a bit more strategic. I'm sure there was a ww2 game where that was the case, but it was ages ago and I can't remember.

Bullets in a table at subway track. :D Lame!
