Well. That doesn't look terribly exciting.
  • Pike #2 5 years ago

    Bloody gorgeous though.
  • Dizzy #3 5 years ago

All massive spoilers these movies :(

TBH the combat needs more work... like a lot of people has said... not so exciting atm.
  • mkreku #4 5 years ago

A bit like Descent then? But with a shotgun instead of a spaceship.
  • Drpwnage #5 5 years ago

    Yawn, pretty tech demo.
  • jack_klugman #6 5 years ago

Does the character have a jetpack? The player seems to be launching himself around without a surface to push off or any sort of propellant.

Wouldn't recoil send you flying backwards everytime you fired?

Well, yes... But if you're looking for unrealistic things may I suggest the massive decaying alien spaceship!??! It's a game! ;)
  • themorganator #9 5 years ago

I hope this comes to 360!
  • Concrete #10 5 years ago

Also, considering the ship seems to be exposed to vacuum, the gun can be heard clearly!
  • timo180 #11 5 years ago

    No floating bullet casings?
    Tsk. :-)
  • Mokuji #12 5 years ago

Well, you'd think that if they can create all that foliage they could do some floating shell casings too ;)

While it is just a game it's a bit of a bummer that while it prides itself on its physics and gfx engine that they let the character just.."walk" in space. Give the guy a jetpack and i'll be more able to ignore the lack of any kind of newtonian physics :)

This sucks. I can handle a lot of unrealism normally but the sheer amount of not even remotely zero gravity like conditions in this trailer will completely kill any immersion when I get to it. I'm going to sit there the entire time going "how the fuck?"
  • PearOfAnguish #14 5 years ago

I already know what this game is going to be like. Starts off all fun - leaping about a jungle throwing Chinese soldiers through walls - then goes crap when you have to fight floaty alien fish things.
  • lost_soul #15 5 years ago

The jungle stuff looks fantastic, but I'm not feeling much love for the ice and zero G stage.
  • huxathon #16 5 years ago

    Hey, it's the new Prey.

I'm constantly having to re-evaluate my opinions on this game, at the moment I can't work out if I like it or not.
  • Royal Fool #17 5 years ago

    PearOfAnguish: Just like FarCry, then.
  • Cheapshot #18 5 years ago

Can the aliens fuck off please Crytek, thanks! :)
  • SilasMalkav #19 5 years ago

*yawn* That looks like one of the most boring games ever. Unfortunatly it also looks like the prettiest.
  • Lukus #20 5 years ago

    Good music. Gameplay looks dull.
  • BobsUncle #21 5 years ago

This reminds me of the shitty dream sequence bit in Max Payne that I hated oh so much.
And is he playing it with his feet? He's a fucking crap shot. I love the way he zooms in on everything first too, as if to say "Look! look! look! See how nice it all is". Just to make sure you know why you've had to spend two grand on a PC capable of playing it. @themorganator: No, it isn't. Crytek say consoles are not good enough to run it.
  • PearOfAnguish #22 5 years ago

    @Royal
Yes, just like Far Cry. And the end of Half-Life.

Conclusion: humans make the best targets, less of the mutants and aliens please.
  • GitSomE_UK #23 5 years ago

I knew it, Alien shit FTL.

The little details such as floating cases, being pushed back, no sound in a vacuum just hearing your breathing in your suit all would improve the experience.

I reckon after the jungle bits this will turn into something quite meh.

    Shame.
  • VMerken #24 5 years ago

They made a new Turrican. At last! =)
  • MonkMorkins #25 5 years ago

I can't believe I need to say this... I thought it looked exciting, but I guess others wouldn't....
The Nanosuit has build int jet propulsion systems so you can fly in Zero-G's.
Finally, there is a kickback on the gun but you can easily counter it with the jet propulsion systems....
PS - The shell casings WILL float in Dx10, this is DX9.
    PPS -

Do you think Crytek realise that the worst part of Half-Life was the end where you were taken to the stupid alien world and the level design changes? I can see the same thing happening here.

Anyway, aside from that, this game is looking more & more like a hybrid of FarCry Instincts, Half-Life and Metroid Prime all the time.
