This is the third installment of our exclusive Crysis footage, and it's so secret, exclusive and exciting that we had to wait until today to publish it. This is the first time that any footage of the post-freezing game has been seen. Ever.

  • mazzl #3 5 years ago

  • Trakerz #4 5 years ago

Looking great but...aren`t there any higher quality videos of this?
  • jack_klugman #5 5 years ago

What's with the consistently dodgy collisions though? The shot impacts, melee attacks and that final enemy colliding with the ground all look distinctly ropey. When stationary though the game is very pretty.

A question occurs to me at this point in the game how do you get ammo for the guns? Lets face it the aliens aren't going to be carrying 5.56mm ammo.

"A question occurs to me at this point in the game how do you get ammo for the guns? Lets face it the aliens aren't going to be carrying 5.56mm ammo."

Haha. If you're asking yourself questions like this you're not going to enjoy 99% of all games ;).

That video gave me motion sickness. Imagine what the game will do to you.
  • Universal_Hamster #9 5 years ago

Considering the latter half of the game is supposedly comprised soley of fighting these rather bland aliens, this just went waaaay down in my estimation.
    Pretty though.

It's the curse of Half Life I tell ya!

Don't developers know having a game set in real worldesque environments then switch to Alien shit NEVER works it always ends up dissapointing.

I want to know about bullets, where do they come from? This is what sucks me into the game play and makes the experience that bit more immersive.

Considering how much I love watching the jungle videos this does absolutely nothing for me. It just looked incredibly dull.

But then I'm a massive exponent of blue skies in games.
  • darshannon #12 5 years ago

Suddenly I don't want Crysis anymore. Thank god, now I don't have to pay for that upgrade.
  • MightyPenguin #13 5 years ago

At last, no more fucking jungle. Enemies look dull as fuck, mind, but still: snow! ^_^

Prediction: 90% of people who don't finish Crysis will give up around the point when they encounter the Bulletproof Alien Bumpasaurus Jellyfishes.
  • TexMurphy01 #15 5 years ago

ALL audio and video bugs are known. ALL. Incredible.
  • Caimbeul #16 5 years ago

for god sake people its PRE beta ie: has not even reached beta stage. Its bound to be ropey. many games go through big changes at the end of the dev cycle.

...Also: it is the jungle, just frozen.

And...i seem to remember them saying they had learned their lesson with farcrys difficulty level...looks pretty f'ing hard to me!
  • jimbob101 #18 5 years ago

Lots of choppiness/screne splitting, is that a lack of V-Sync?

Those enemies look very boring, walk backwards while shooting.
  • MoFo #19 5 years ago

So what this clip shows me is it looks amazing but it's yet another game that involves endless backing away while emptyting countless clips of ammo in to weird creatures that have somehow amazingly developed a near immunity to bullets but yet have the intelligence of flea.

Seriously, can no one in the games industry look beyond graphics these days?
  • Macross #20 5 years ago

what? sorry was too busy looking at the graphics.
  • MoFo #21 5 years ago

Ok Egster I see how that adds an extra dimension to the gameplay. Maybe they could work on the AI a bit too. For example the nasty flying jellyfish could lure the player in to their nest where a whole swarm of nasty jellyfish will sting the player to death before eatting all the flesh from his body and hanging his lifeless corpse up to rot in the midday sun? That'd be awesome fun! People would buy that shit.
  • gypsumfantastic #22 5 years ago

    It looks appalling.
Slippy slidey ice world environmental cliche #1 (coming soon- lava level and minecart ride!)
    Dull-looking aliens!
AI-free goons that run at you in a straight line, Doom 1 style!
Enemies trying to shoot through rocks!
Jesus. Based on this evidence, it's going to be a train wreck.

"Don't developers know having a game set in real worldesque environments then switch to Alien shit NEVER works it always ends up dissapointing. "

    Fully agree.
At least Valve realised that fact with HL2
  • mash the x button #24 5 years ago

    Agree with MoFo.
  • Triggerhappytel #25 5 years ago

Agree with Gitsome. Concentrated alien bad guys FTL -- it's why the ending to Half Life was the worst part of the game...

    EDIT - stoopid mistakes

  • huxathon #26 5 years ago

suddenly a lot less interested in this game
  • Nallen #27 5 years ago

Wow, [INSERT GENERIC SHOOTER NAME] is looking better than ever.

    :\
  • MENTAL1ST Verified Senior Software Engineer, Picsel UK Ltd. #28 5 years ago

Graphics are nice, but the gameplay looks rubbish.

I wanted to rant at this, but MoFo and gypsumfanatic have said it all for me.

That preview of Far Cry 2 sounded considerably more interesting, and a more fitting followup that this does. Besides, I know personally that the designer of some of the best levels of Far Cry left Crytek after it was done. Maybe they've only got graphics programmers left.

Looking good, loving the wind effects when the things hover close to the ground.
  • lockload #31 5 years ago

    OMG that looks amazing
  • Amnesia #32 5 years ago

Woah that has just taken the wind out of my sails considerably about this title. Yes yes yes, pre-beta, yes yes yes, we know all, rar rar rar collisions and stuff to be sorted out........FINE. But holy leg of mutton roasted with weiner sauce, those have to be the lamest looking enemies I can remember since...since...since...oh god the pain....Daikatana.....

What on earth were they thinking releasing this?

    Seriously. Bad. News.
  • TheUnionFrag #33 5 years ago

    zomg!

Now I have to get an 8800Ultra to play this game.

Fuck my 360 - I forgot just how beautiful Crysis is.
  • smelly #34 5 years ago

Still not in the slighest bit bothered by this.
  • famous_roy #35 5 years ago

Shooting matrix rip off aliens in future.....yyyaaaawwwnnn. This game never looked that exciting apart from teh grafix, this just confirms it.
  • prodicted #36 5 years ago

looks great and it can offer a nice interesting twist with the aliens. I just hope they implament them better than the mutants in far cry.
