Very very nice. System Shock 3, possibly?

Clever little detail: the health bar on his back. First you think, meh, that seems a bit of an unrealistic stretch, but then Isaac walks past a safety notice that calls for miners to "watch each other's back", and suddenly the in-world health bar on his back makes sense. Nice.

This looks like one of the year's biggest games, no doubt about it. The care and attention to detail, the design and overall presentation are stunning. The gameplay might ultimately be a bit 'Doom3 meets Prey', but I don't mind. I love the whole 'stuck aboard an infested spaceship' thing, so I'll have tons of fun with this.

Well done, EA. Against the odds, and despite yourselves, you actually seem to have produced a game of outstanding quality.

That video does not do it justice, Dead Space is one of the nicest looking games I have seen. And like mentioned the attention to detail is outstanding as is the sound.

Looks great and a definite buy, but I have to agree with simakperrce in that I was hoping for a bit more Event Horizon and less Doom 3.

    doom meets prey?
are you joking? this runs like sci-fi Biohazard 4 in every respect possible, short of holding hands with some a helpless young whelp.

otherwise it is mighty impressive and i am also certainly interested again since that whole sorry episode of the million spin-off side projects period.

So it's a direct SS2 clone minus original plot plus unoriginal halo flood clones.

Might actually even turn out to be not so bad after all.

excellent excellent excellent, the body motion on isaac is particularly high quality.
there are definately enough fresh ideas anongst the dozen well chosen rip-offs to make this stand out and memorable, rats off to ya EA!

Looks cool, although obviously he's battling the controls as much as he's battling the ingame foes.

In other words, required it has enough depth, it could be really good on the PC.

    looks shit...

Looks pretty damn good to me :)

Doesn't look great to me. The UI ideas are nice, but looks a bit difficult to see what's going on the back. Not keen on the over the shoulder camera, seems clunky.

Very generic as well, just knicking from every other sci-fi horror.

If it's heavily scripted as well, then that's even worse.

The store ? You're in a ravaged ship where everything's going to hell, you're a systems engineer (or at least a comms engineer whose skills should at least cover POS terminals) and you're reduced to going through peoples' pockets for small change in order to buy your kit ? UH ?

Well, apart from that, it looks sweet.

Anyone else think the camera struggled when those beasties got up close and personal? And yes, I agree with earlier posters that the horror here is a little too bombastic.

These issues aside, it's a tour de force. Reminds me rather heavily of Cryostasis: Sleep of Reason, if anyone's been keeping tabs on that. Well done EA.

    mmm. looking forward to this

That looks pretty awesome, like Bioshock in space.

The only bad bit was the release date - 2 months! :(

Agree with what others have said, the 3rd person camera/controls seem a bit clunky for up-close combat (which seems to be 50% of the time). Hope there aren't too many parts like that lift section at the start where the designers thought it would be "scary" to spawn enemies right on top of you in a tiny enclosed space with no way to avoid damage. Looks alreet though, Space Resident Evil (clunky controls and all).
  • Bilbo_bobbins #23 4 years ago

graphically this is great, all the small details are fantastic....gameplay wise, I think this could get very repetitive after a short while.
  • CHAOS_BROON #24 4 years ago

looks really good but i think its a littleslow at the moment i mean.. if something lands behind you it takes ages to turn around and aim at it similar with resi4 but i suppose its just a minor lil thing i was jus a lil concerned cos i really like the look of this title .
  • Triggerhappytel #25 4 years ago

Looks really good. My only concern is that the enemies look a bit rubbish and I don't like the way you seem to have a woman who speaks to you and updates your objectives. It would be creepier and lonelier without her.
  • themorganator #26 4 years ago

This does look detailed. I hope they do a demo!
  • LeSpank #27 4 years ago

Enemies spawning on your head - bad
Slow controls making it hard to shoot at close range - bad
    Non-scary halo/half life bad guys - bad

This wont be as good as you are hoping.
