If its pretty, and fun, who cares about buying into the idea? Its not as iff Burnout was a foundation rooted in realism, and this has just taken things too far. Realism is clearly irrelevant here, so why not just wallow in the pretty fun?
Perononally, I thought it looked ace. The power plays seem to far too often consist of flames coming from somewhere, but I would need to see more to decide whether that was an issue or not.
Those closing moments were quite tense. Pity about that tight couple of corners robbing you of the gold
@BlinxHDD
It looked slower moving than Burnout a lot of the time, but it looked smooth as silk. Are you clear on what 60fps gives you, and what it does not give you?

The car picks up speed, as the driving gets more tight, the race proceeds, and there's drafting/drifting etc.
Also, the action appears to slow, to highlight occasions where a player can make Power Plays.
I really like that there's no menu, so that you don't lose your focus from the race (one button activation ftw), and lap 3 in the clip was a great look at the sort of level of amplitude the game can reach!
The soundtrack seems like a good fit, too.

I guess it's just to keep the pack of cars tighter together when you're out in the lead.

Also, for those wondering, it looks like Draft is slipstream.

Think of it like a 1500m athletics event, leading and staying in front isn't always the best way of winning, it's knowledge of the track and powerplays and what's happening that define how you position yourself to take the lead when it matters.
having played the demo though, being in front is a blast, defensive driving, the world being brought down around you and you're driving through it. as much fun surely as watching it all from the triggering car?
