Today's blistering footage from the fifth mission of Guerrilla's shooter (spoiler alert!) shows the game has come a long way since the early "Halo-beater " promise of the PS2 original. Of course, as we know, it's not an impossible task to be Better Than Halo around these parts...

    There is quite a lot of green and red and yellow there, now this string is sounding generic.

    Listen to all the Xbox fanboy's, its just another generic shooter its to grey, brown. But if its on Xbox and its generic and brown its the best think since sliced fucking bread. Just go buy a PS3 and have done with it, you know you want to really! Oh and before im called a sony fanboy i'll just let you know I have all the system's.

    i have an xbox, and played gears, can't play it, beceause i don't see wall from enemy from teammate. same would be here, if i look at the video, half of the time i can't even see what there shooting at!
    we need more team fortress visuals!

    I'll say what has been said many times before. All those people saying it's dull/brown/generic etc I can guarantee wouldn't be saying it if this were a 360 game.

    Killzone 2 should be renamed Sliced Bread v2.0...definitely looking forward to it...brown is my favourite colour, so I'm stoked.

    I really don't get the hate. This looks freekin awesome. Regardless of which format, if this game looks this good ALL games are gonna need to pull there socks up to impress in the future. Therefore everybody wins.

    The game doesn't look generic at all to me, it looks like real war. Except that big gun, that just looked fun.

    plus i rekon there a wee bit worryed because even in the beta game everyone knows it shat on GOW and halo from a great height and walked off without saying sorry !

    It looks fairly good. It is very brown but I think there is a little more colour in it than Gears.

    Er, mazzl - that's what we in the professional space marine business call "camoflage". See, generally, when there's a lot of people shooting large calibre space guns at your face, blending in with walls is rather a good thing.

    It all looks pretty intense. More like the original Medal of Honour D Day landings. Wonder how scripted it is.

    lulz...2009 and they still use exploding barrels.

    If this had been released 2 years ago as a PS3 launch title, it would have looked amazing (but still no where near the E3 2005 render), but in 2009 it only looks average.

    I reckon most of the posters here were just sarcastically anticipating the comments that would appear here, which are the same comments that always surface in a Killzone discussion.

    Anyway: this is the best trailer of this game I have seen so far (minus maybe the mounted gun at the end which is indeed a bit generic). The action is intense and the smoke effects are just amazing. I just wish GG would have resisted putting exploding barrels in there (because that's pretty generic too)

    Looks noisy, intense, frantic, visceral, fun, exciting, and worth any war-based fps fan's money.

    Damn...it's got brown in it, so I shan't/ can't buy it.

    I continue to wonder why people have to feel if someone doesn't like a game on a particular console they must be championing the rival.

    When I look at the KZ2 movies, I do not see anything that stands out. Yes the game engine looks great, but the gameplay isn't making me feel like I will be playing anything special.

    Looks just like an average fps esp after: Half Life 2, Bioshock, CoD 4, Left4Dead, Far Cry 2, Halo; - not impressed with the graphics too from all the hype this game was given, AI seem to be a bit simple. I think it's more over hyped and just a decent (I that!) shooter at best.

    Looks really good. Doesn't look good enough to warrant buying a PS3 as it'd be the only game I played on it and no game is worth £300, but it does look good. I am an xbot through and through.

    I don't like to play fps with pad, but this game makes that all the other shooters in console -and anyone in PC but Crysis and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.- looks like a sh!t.

    Brown? Grey? Dark? There's a fast paced, action shooter that looks the bomb coming out on the Wii that is ENTIRELY in black and white called Madworld. WTF has colour got to do with anything? Jeeeeeeeeeeeesuuuuuuus...................

    Cautiously optimistic here. I have R2 and find the the single player campaign to be 'meh' but online its sweet. I'll probably switch to KZ2 if word of mouth / critical reception is favourable.

    This game sure does get a lot of comments though...

    Gameplay wise it looks interesting. Fast, intense, parallel action and alot more that could make it interesting.

    Game AI im still not convinced of watching a couple of gameplay vids, they seem to go into "run between cover" alot and end up just standing in the open, and when you get close to them they just go into a "lets stop shooting and start hitting" mode.

    Graphics is the worst, as some here say, its grey/brown and generic. Not that it's a bad thing, its just not very good for a game that's supposed to keep you sucked in with fast pace. Colours and contrast is what makes you remember places. Right now I wouldn't have a clue if that is the first level, a mid-level or the last, they all look the same. I'd hate to backtrack in a game like that, or figure out where to walk next. Even in the real world, there's more contrast than shades of grey and some dim-coloured light. If it weren't for the eyes of the enemy, I'd probably be shooting everything that walks, team-mates included.

    Ahhh! thats better! hang on a minute, comfort from what?

    Looks good and all, but I beleive people claiming it to look better than gears of war 2 graphics wise are doing so because that is the main graphics competitor they consider a threat. Also, not sure how these videos show its superiorty as they are clearly not full resolution, does anyone have some links to some better quality vids?

    And yes, CoD4 is such a big influence here, it's alarming.

    Haven't seen ONE thing about this game that demonstrates an original thought yet; hopefully the footage they can't show us contains numerous gameplay innovations (and no, actually decent sixaxis controls do not count).

    If I see the word "generic" used to describe an fps game again I swear I will murder somebody, it's not a valid criticism it's a knee jerk reaction and a way to comfort your poor little fragile fanboy minds. You can't dismiss the game without playing it either especially when the game is being pretty much unanimously praised by people who HAVE played it.

    Also, if you expect a warzone to be a land of butterflies and rainbows with BLOOOOOM everywhere then you're delusional.

    Is this is it !...Graphics - whats so special about them ?...gameplay looks a standard yesteryear fps!....Is this the game with that's meant to sell the PS3 2yrs later ? if so it does looks & plays as a standard fps.

    gearsand this do indeed have muddy textures, however if youve played gears 2 youd know there was actually some variety and lighting effects to change the mood totally. And the previews say the games look changes after the initial city assault. And to be this trailer doesant look that generic to me.

    The animation looks... wrong somehow. Like the weapons lack impact. Everything moves fluidly, which is just plain wrong for solid objects.
