This video watches like a Nintendo PR stunt. Tiresome.

Because I expect you're frikking gorgeous, right? Looked like a pretty average bunch of people to me.

    @Ultrasoundwave

A bunch of pale, balding, overweight cock smokers......its because of people like this that gamers in general have such a bad reputation.

Rude, vacuous idiot. They're more beautiful than you are, with that ugly attitude of yours.

    Yawn, the 3DS looks pants...

Well, I was there and I pretty much agree with all that was said.

Yes, we can moan about the price and the launch line up, BUT, the hardware itself I'm happy to say, is solid.

And yes, the 3D doesn't jump out at you. It's more like you're looking inside the screen. Like a box. It's quite impressive

It really is amazing! And when the masses find out about it; expect sales to be big.

Solid Hardware, with actually a solid intial software libary. I see it as a mature gaming device, really.

Lucky they didn't ask for my first impressions. ''Mehhh, kind of alright I s'pose and what the fuck is with that viewing angle?''
I was interested and now I'm not. :/

I went on the sunday (absolute hell parking near brick lane) and have to say that I was suitably impressed with the ar cards. The rest of it was ok but, I found the viewing angle to be a bit annoying. Essentially you get ghosting if you more too far in any one direction. I found that with games with a lot of action, my natural inclination was to move about and, I kept loosing the 3d effect as a result.

Sky 3D was cool though and I was actually suprised that this is coming to the 3DS as no-one seems ot have mentioned it.

I went to one of the events, the live Street Fighter & Resident Evil 'shows' were truly hilarious.

Have to say I was a little underwhelmed by it. The games I got to play seemed to use 3D just for 3D's sake. I was disappointed with Pro Evo especially, which is using a really annoying camera angle just so the 3D looks better.

you found someone who has a 3DTV! :o

I was extremely skeptical of the 3D idea until I saw it; it really does make you think, "wow!"

That said, I'm still skeptical; it's still open for how many people there will be eyestrain issues (I found it made me uncomfortable from time to time), and how much this will really make gameplay better, or even more immersive. Still, that initial initial "wow" factor should help sell a number of units, and even if you take away the 3D it's a higher resolution, faster, better DS, and so I can't see how it could lose.
  • FenderMaster #14 1 year ago

So the 3D doesn't actually pop out? Really?

I guess depth is interesting too, like that DSi game where you move the unit around to look for shapes...

still though, thats mighty disappointing, i#'m willing to bet alot of people are in for a shock if it really doesn't jump out at you...

What's with the horrible "futuristic" soundtrack in this video? :)
  • RoaringPanda #16 1 year ago

I have a negative view on this and that makes me interesting

All I want to know is, where was the Virtual Boy in that line up near the end of the clip? Can't imagine why they left that one out!

Seriously though, watching this and reading comments kinda sums up the whole issue with 3DS (and the various motion controllers out there too I guess); you really need to try it for yourself before you can form an opinion. Some people seemed sceptical but now love it, others were looking forward to it and now don't like it so much.

I'm optimistic, but I suppose I won't really know whether its for me until I get to have a go. Hopefully I'll hate it so I don't have to find £220 from somewhere! ;)
