The combat was okay, but the game is pretty choppy. The story started to get good in the last cutscene of the demo but, the parts on the ship were incredibly boring. The controls are odd for Monkey as well, there seems to be a bit of a delay, and it's not very responsive.

The platforming was nothing new if you've played an Uncharted game, it feels impossible to fuck up a jump because he just ends up on the right climbable thing anyway. I jumped no-where near a pipe and he still ended up clinging to it. It felt like an interactive cut-scene most of the time.

The frame-rate dropped quite regularly too, some screen tearing etc. It hasn't done anything to make me want to buy it. As I said, I felt like it was just about to get good so, if the beginning is the only bad part, I'm still optimistic.

It looks like a good game in this video but, when you play it it's not very fun.

Well that's a shame. I had been quite looking forward to this.

Beautiful. But in a game that's basically a glorified platformer with added beat-em-up (or the other way around), the animation has to be smooth.

-It's not, Monkey has a really loopy, interesting gait, but they seem to have cut back his animation to retain the FPS, and this hurts his ambulation and the feel of the controls badly. And the cross tearing due to no vertical synch is BAD.

Given the Unreal engine's usual place of residence, it might be an idea to watch for the 360 version, my experience was with the PS3 demo..

The demo was quite a nice tutorial. Very pretty. I imagine that the game itself will get really interesting when/ if it stops holding your hand.

I was impressed by the demo. There was a good sense of spectacle and emergency (even tho it was pretty difficult to actually mess up things). Vivid colours and interesting visuals, faces looked stunning and the voice acting was good.

Controls were a little sluggish, altho at first it felt as if they had taken Monkey's weight and size into consideration to create momentum. I guess it's just a little slow. It did feel a little "on rails" but this was obviously a tutorial and not meant to be difficult so I hope the full game offers a little more challenge.

Definitely a game that's on my radar now. I'll wait for reviews before any purchase, of course.

I felt nothing for the characters. In fact during just this short demo I actually ended up hating Trip. She basically killed an entire ship of prisoners, showed absolutely no compassion for the fleeing Monkey and then to top it all of attaches a lethal charge helmet to his head while he's out cold. Basically she's a complete bitch! At this stage I could care less if she were trying to get to her dying mothers bedside.

Sadly not a buy for me.

I loved the drama of this introduction scene, and Monkey's quips, but I did find the framerate choppy and camera less than helpful. I also agree with Penhalion about Trip, really didn't end up liking her, although perhaps as Monkey that is the point and maybe her reasons when explained will make her a bit more sympathetic. I also thought Monkey kind of accepted his fate a little too easily. It's not like he has any reason to believe that Trip will ever set him free, she hadn't exactly gone out of her way to help him out before that.

This demo was a complete letdown. Running through the same room 14 times, the animation were extremely choppy, the art direction was all over the place and the main character is total fail. He's like Catman or some shit.

    No sale.

It was basically the same room over and over when you went through a door, but this didn't bother me. It makes sense that a prison/slave ship would be very bland and same-y, shows you how tedious and machine-like slavery can be.

However, I doubt this was the reason they used the same designs. Feels like it was rushed rather than implemented artistically. We'll see if the other levels fare any better once it's released, but it has me worried.

I wanted to like the game but, the list of reasons not to is growing.
