    hehe.

Something about the way the units seem.... static... when they aren't doing anything made this seem far more RTS than I'd thought it was. Would like to meet.... er, see... a demo, I think.

Wow. Feel the misogyny in the room.
  • mexalen #6 4 years ago

@Danbojones: nah, it's not misogyny. It's just plain stereotypical behaviour when guys are confronted with gaming girls :)

"Strategy at the speed of thought"

Er is that including when the XBox or PS3 fail to recognise your voice or when you have no idea where anyone is or what they are doing.

Ignoring the comments on the frag dolls (their getting paid by Ubisoft to do these shit previews and pretend to like it). This game just looks like a mistake. Voice commanding games simply doesn't work as the player feels so detached from it that they simply don't enjoy it. This becomes even more pronounced when the computer fails to recognise a command at a crucial moment.

    WOW we're attacking

Fucking hell. Is this shit supposed to get girls into gaming. How fucking patronising.

Girls or women who play games aren't some weird or special exception.
So when a publishers pretends they are and uses gender to manufacture a clan whose sole reason for existence is to promote their games, they deserve all the ridicule they get and then some.

Who are the Frag Dolls? Anyway, they must be getting paid for this ad. Don't know about the game: Since voice command is a new thing, I suppose everyone has to try for him- (pardon) herself.

You guys critising the game should read the preview Eurogamer did on this and its voice comms. They actually made it sound pretty promising so I would not dismiss it out of hand yet.

Of course it may still end up being crap.
  • mexalen #13 4 years ago

@Freek: exactly! That's the whole point, why the FragDolls are widely recepted with crossed eyes.
They might be pretty good gamers anyway, but it's just manufactered by Ubisoft.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to Endwars. Hope there is going to be a demo on Live sometime soon. The voice command-interface looks very promising.

To anyone that dismisses the Voice Commanding: just wait and see, before you judge it. It's the same as some people dismiss Game Controllers, the Wii-mote etc before laying their hands on.

I kind of like the idea of the voice commands. It's a strategy game not a shooter.
  • Machetazo #16 4 years ago

If the game doesn't descend into Kawashima-esque farce, with your troops actually doing what the Commander instructs, then it won't be returned within a couple of days.

    Fragdolls enjoy Ubisoft game SHOCKER!!!
  • PING75 #18 4 years ago

wonder if that's there real names ;)
Do I need to develop an american accent to play this game.? lol
and will most of my voice commands consist of, " no I said move to the fucking left....left.....left...FUCKING LEFT"
