Is it me, or is his voice wrong?

Also - one thing which never occured to me.. is it possible to not launch the cow? And does that effect the end?

@smelly - I may be imagining it, but I don't think you can run past the cow without launching it. The screen just gets stuck at that point. However, this is from a very vague memory, so I might be wrong. The voice definitely seems off.

nah it's the right voice - althout it's 9 times out of ten replaced in my mind with the cartoon series voicework

The voice definitely sounds like a place-holder. The trashcan exploding looks all wrong and its sound-effects are too loud. Jim jumping without the suit also looks all wrong. No feeling of inertia. The climbing animation runs too fast as does the animation when the dog gets hit. Too many things to write. There is a LOT that is off with this version.

Also they didn't really make good use of the additional hardware resources. Instead of the game looking more like a painting or like art, they mostly use the additional colors for gradients and as a result the game looks more computer-y and cold than it should.
