E3: Wipeout HD - Gameplay

Need 2 votes!

A selection of short-but-sweet clips of the recently announced PSN only Wipeout HD. We're expecting a crafty re-make of the original, with a dash of pulse sauce, to fill in the gap before the full Wipeout release on PS3 in 2008.

1) Maybe a decent player would have been a good idea
2) Who made the video? Boring

Proper Wipeout for PS3 should be nice!

Lacks atmosphere. Probably because there is no music.

Hmmm. Business as usual - if you've played any of the series you know what to expect here.

I was never very good at the Wipeout games, though. Quick reactions are not my forte.

It's astonishing how boring it seems without music, though.

It all looks rather sterile, almost cel-shaded. The sound is identical to PSP Wipeout Pure. Currently: uninspiring.

When you recode the same game for the... 9th(?) time, probably getting a bit boring is understandable.

That's a PS3 game? An in-house developed and fully coded to take full advange of the Cell PS3 game?

Wow.

Hope there's an option to play your own music collection in-game.

That looks pretty good for a PSP title.

What track is that?

It looks a bit bland at the moment.

No, it's a remade version of the original...atleast that's what it says. Kind of like an XboxLive version of an old game...a port but with some new features and knocked up to HD standards.

The full PS3 Wipeout will come later on in 2008 I reckon.

Ooh that's an awfully low-res video. Much as I love eurogamer TV, if you want to see this the way nature intended you're much better off popping over to IGN ... where I have to say it reminded me why I love Wipeout so much.

Yay a game where i can bounce of walls ina cool looking spacecraft because it handles like poo!

Explosion effects were also very PS2

Music probably not in the vid so people dont know the track listing.

i *heart* the first wipeout - the only one, i feel, with proper flow on the tracks.

That track's straight from Wipeout Pure on the PSP too - I guess they're remaking it for the PS3 - at the moment though, it looks better on the PSP!

I've seen this described as a PSN re-envisioning of Wipeout Pulse.
