    >It also beats Gears of War.

    You guys are funny... really.

"this is a deffinate Halo beater" "It also beats Gears of War" - someones getting ahead of themselves considering what little actual gameplay has been shown

Wow, big macho guys with big large guns!
  • Gurrah #10 5 years ago

lol they couldn't even think of a new trailer, the first half was almost exactly the same as the pre rendered one.

It certainly looks a lot less cartoony than Halo, which appeals to me.

In all fairness this does look really quite impressive.

I get the feeling that it's going to be very closed in, much like Gears. The level looked big, yes, but as soon as they landed in that street it seemed to be a very narrow and funneled path ahead.

Will it be shooting itself in the foot by being released next year though? I mean, by then we could all be talking about the inevitable Gears 2 etc.

Still though, probably the game I'd be most excited about seeing more of on the PS3.

Shame none of that was in-game footage, either CGI or pre-rendered crap.
  • Metalfish #14 5 years ago

Graphics aside (which look on par with gears -if a little less shiny) it appears to play just like its prequel, which I found a little slow and clunky -thats not to say that I don't doubt this will surpass it in every way, however.

I'd just advise caution before saying anything too drastic -we have long memories here at EG.

Jesus christ I've never met anyone as critical as you guys :p

    Looks superb.

Gurrah - "lol they couldn't even think of a new trailer, the first half was almost exactly the same as the pre rendered one."

I think that's the point. They're trying to show graphically how close the finished product is to the video two years ago.

Anyway, I know it's easy to make videos look good, but colour me very impressed. I wasn't particularly fond of KZ1 (didn't play Liberation), but I thought the designs and scenario were pretty cool.

They seem to have proper physics here, let's hope the animation is up to scratch, it's not so reliant on rigid set-pieces and the plot is a bit better this time around. It would also be most awesome if the game could run at 60 fps (as part of that video appears to be at the end).

Just moved onto my 'fairly interested' list. Definitely a better trailer than Halo 3, IMO.

Yeah thinking about it, the E3 05 trailer didn't have destructible scenery, neither did it have the Helghast bodies reacting to every bullet, so in some areas it's added onto the trailer in some ways.

Nitty gritty warfare is what I've wanted in a FPS, now it just needs to feel completely unscripted, and it's perfect for me.

I agree with Metalfish - look nigh-on identical to practically all UE3 game footage we've seen, bar a little less shiny.

It all comes down to gameplay, then. That's a pity, as the original had brilliant art direction, but the gameplay was lacking.

I notice that safety regulations have been vastly reduced in the future - those flying machines have no safe belts and the railings are a joke! They wouldn't have passed a safety check in our days, no sir! Poor grunts of the future...

    Gosh...

No seat belts in that thing?!
  • Amazing Bryan #22 5 years ago

Haha. Looks like the developers have been spending too much of their time playing Gears of War.

Looks alright, but not worth waxing £400 on though really.
  • Triggerhappytel #23 5 years ago

Those big fellas remind me of Halo's Hunters - they're all big, cumbersome and armoured, and run directly at the player.

I like this video a lot. Let's hope the gameplay's up to scratch this time around.

people compare these graphics to gears of war, and this game still has months of development time left; bodes well
