E3: Crysis - Gameplay montage

Published 18 July, 2007 Duration 3:21

Another crispy serving of delectable Crysis delights from Crytek's hi-definition kitchen. Stealth mode looks like it might be a little too effective at the moment, but we're pretty sure that Crytek won't let it get out of hand.

I thought this was supposed to be the 'next frontier' of gfx technology....DX10 and all that.

Haze,Killzone 2 on the PS3 looked better than this....and it wont cost you £1500 to play at a decent frame rate...

Im starting to feel slightly less impressed by the graphics. It still looks great, but I think by the time it comes out it may not be completely peerless.

Gameplay looks like a nice balance of stealth and action.

I am still very excited about this.

Is there a 360 release date for this?

New technology where guns dont cast shadows? ;-)

    Still looks good though!

    Just. no.

yeah lol statix, il have to disagree with that im afraid.

its not just the graphics, which if you look at the game outside of grainy low res trailers is superior, its the whole enviromental interactivity and physics that the game sports is currently untouchable by any other game.

Looks a lot like FarCry. They should've called it FarCrysis.

I hope the stupid super-abilities don't ruin this game -- I thought they spoiled FarCry Instincts*.

Oh, and has this been confirmed for any consoles yet? I know the folk at Crytek hate consoles, but I'm sure EA will port it to get as much $ as they can.

*Yes, I am aware FCI was developed by Ubisoft.

Heh, no, sorry, they didn't. Watch the HD videos of Crysis.

And you'll need a 1500 quid PC as much as you need a 1500 quid TV for Killzone 2.

N.Korea is shutting down its nuclear plants. This game is so passe.

Distinctly unimpressed by the same old dull cliche ridden gameplay.

    ban this fick silth!

So who thinks it will follow Far Cry in its good till you stop fighting people and take on mutants/aliens?
  • dr_zoidthrob #14 5 years ago

There's an interesting shadow 'problem' at 01.51 - the gun being held casts no shadow.

Other than that, it's a lovely looking game

I must have missed all the FPS games with this kind of open level-design and good AI (if Far Cry is anything to go by), maybe you could do a list so I can catch up. Far Cry comes to mind. And Stalker. And....hm.

Good AI? The poor Koreans are practically lining up to be taken out by our hero. He's so tough he even takes on a tank with a machine gun.

Yes but at least it will be pretty.
    A cool tech demo.
  • deadlock #19 5 years ago

This is a demo; it's pretty obvious that the AI has been toned down in some cases for demonstration purposes and so on.

People always suddenly forget this when they are trying to say that consoles are cheaper... The vast majority do not have a HDTV yet.

£1,500 is something of an exaggeration anyway.

I am with mash here. The AI, at least based on this clip, seems yet to be of another shooting gallery type.

Come on, this is Crytek - they have stressed again and again how they are aware that the AI was why people loved the first game, and how they worked on it to even improve it. Getting the idea that it will be a "shooting gallery" game based on a few minutes of video of a demo for E3 presentation purposes, not to mention months before the game's release, seems a bit non-sensical.

Yeah, I know Valve did exactly this and forgot to implement any AI in HL2, but let's have faith. ;p
  • jack_klugman #22 5 years ago

But wouldn't be preferable to resolve your differences without resorting to violence?
