Quite looking forward to this, just a shame it's using a similar crippled co-op feature to Fable 2, would have been nice to be able to play this with friends. Should tide me over 'til War in the North though, can't ask for much more than that

Does that mean there's no local coop, Murton?

    /broken record mode on

Also: No helmet slot for the warrior = fail.

either they're very good at making trailers, or this looks a lot better than I'd anticipated.

After I played the demo I lost all interest in this console port of a game.

"No helmet slot for the warrior = fail."
Tell this to the Space Marines=)

They have tacked the Dungeon Siege name onto a very poor isometric game that I would not even call an rpg, in the hopes of squeezing out a few sales. Chars are pre made, there are no real decisions about char development, as you will spend points in all the limited skills available by cap, the control method is absolutely dire on pc with no way to remap at launch, and the ui is horrendous it looks like you are playing at 800 X 600. I have the previous DS games and add-ons, but I will not be buying anymore if this is what the series has been reduced to, a substandard console port.

I'll be getting this for the local co-op to play with the kids on x360 - will be great fun no doubt.
  • DefendoCroc #8 12 months ago

Be warned .. crap generic game incomming with a truely wank UI.

Soooooo disappointed after playing the demo. This is has final fantasy on the rails elements with a different name...

    @UncleLou

I believe there is local co-op, but whether you play local or online player 2 plays a non-persistent henchman character that is matched to the host's level. They don't earn xp or retain or any gear. Makes the co-op mode a half arsed joke in my opinion.

The demo was both very good and very addictive (tried it on the 360 and PC) so I'm really looking forward to this slice of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance-style action RPGing. I just hope Obsidian have implemented fullscreen 16:10 properly in the full PC version as you shouldn't have to edit the configuation file manually in order to have it: if the option is available in the config file then why not the game itself? Tut!

I was hoping this would be good, but (aside from very smooth 60 fps performance on my aging system) the PC demo was terribly disappointing, particularly because the controls and interface made it feel like a straight console port of the worst kind - not exactly something you would expect from the action-RPG genre. But perhaps I should buy the PS3 version instead and hope for the best. Or a gamepad for my PC.

Unless the reviews turn out more favourable than I expect though, I think I'll just wait for Torchlight II instead. And Diablo 3, but I'm not holding my breath for that until next year. Or 2015.

I can't wait for this, I love half ass multiplayers. I especially love being teathered together online despite Sacred 2 and Daggerdale (which is an Arcade title) managged to make the online work brilliantly in comparision.
  • Nephirion #14 12 months ago

Seemed better than Hunted, will tide over till Diablo 3
  • UncleLou #15 12 months ago

Cheers, Murton, that is disappointing. Seeing how the PC version is a pretty shoddy port that requires a pad anyhow, I was considering getting this for the PS3 in the hope that there'd at least be a proper coop mode.

Oh, and, no helmets for the warrior, what were they thinking?! Sorry, I'll stop now. ;)
  • rottingyoda #16 12 months ago

Uninstalled the demo after 5 mins. So very disappointed as I love DSII.

Horrible console port. The story may very well be decent but the first impression I got from the movement and fighting was so jarring I instantly hit 'ESC'
