We've been getting nothing but serious shooters with space marines/soldiers etc all takin themselves too seriously for years now, and that's not a condemnation, just stating the fact that most recent FPS/shooter offerings have been very samey, all striving to be hollywood in its production values and maturity.
Even if this is a failure, at least it's trying it best to stay true to it's roots and not take itself too seriously.
A quality that only seems to stretch to the lower budget titles these days.

That trailer looked awful! Reminiscing is fun for a while, but I really think this is going to be a massive disappointment. Toilet humour is OK for a while but eventually it just becomes annoying. I know this is a popular IP and I'm sure I'll get negged for this comment, but don't come complaining when you're bored of this pixellated monstrosity after barely half an hour.

BTW, I would like it to be good, for the fans, but I just don't think it will be any good, at all.

Video game equivalent of films like Snakes On A Plane and Piranha 3D; a game that doesn't try to be anything it's not and doesn't really give a shit because the publishers know it'll sell a bucketload.

I love how they censor the nudity but not the language, too.

When you have a game that has been in production for so long and Gearbox have worked hard on it since getting it such a short time ago, there is no surprise that it looks dated, but you know what, if it retains what made FPS games great 10 years ago it will be an absolute blast. At least its finally getting a release and they can move on with the next game.

The music near the end of the trailer is the same music that was used near the end of the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World trailer. Weird. Anyway, looks juvenile, but in a good way. Too many videogames are juvenile by accident; it'll be nice to play one that does it on purpose.
