Have to say that I was unsure about buying this, but managed to get it for £22 so less of a risk.. Glad I did, have been really impressed so far..

I was planning on finishing my first Deus Ex: HR playthrough last night, but I simply couldn't put down Driver: San Francisco.
I love this game so much that I actually ended up posting a thread on the GameFAQs forum under the title "Best open world racing game ever!" :). Because it's most certainly up there with my absolute favourites of the genre, with arguably only the original TDU (PC version with Logitech G25) getting and keeping me more hooked.

The only thing I sorely miss in Driver: SF is wheel support - would have loved to use my G25 with this, Midnight Club: LA and recently Motorstorm Apocalypse proved that wheel and pedals can work very well even with pure arcade racers - but even with a gamepad I actually quite like the handling.

Watching trailers and reading previews I would have guessed this might be a 6/10 game at best. Playing the demo suggested I might consider it a 7/10 and likely not a game I would bother buying on release. Many of the reviews said 8/10, convincing me to buy it. And after playing all night last night - story missions plus a brief stint in the fun and promising multiplayer - I'm leaning towards a 9/10.
I can't wait to dive in again tonight.
