I'm not quite sure what to think of this

that zoomed in combat looks pretty scary tbh, isn't this point and click?

    Dargon Age? What's that then?

  • robg #5 4 years ago

    Dargon????

Oh, dran. Other people got there frist.
  • JediMasterMalik #6 4 years ago

Certainly looks prety good, the voice acting was dire though.
  • Vasenor #7 4 years ago

Evolutionary from NWN2, engine wise, it seems.

D3 looks nicer, more impressive and more polished. Should be a totally different kind of experience though.

    Could be better than Kotro
  • viper_h #9 4 years ago

  • JediMasterMalik #10 4 years ago

Diablo 3 does not look better than that technically, art direction is completely different though.
  • Goffee #11 4 years ago

    Those Dargon's? Weren't they a nasty lot in Blake's 7?
  • penhalion #12 4 years ago

I don't see any real difference between this and NWN2 and quite frankly I didn't like NWN2.....
  • Vasenor #13 4 years ago

    Sub-par is a bit harsh I'd say.

Anyways, I'm more interested in how good the dialogue and the story is.
  • DB2k #14 4 years ago

does someone shout RELEASE THE HOUNDS at one point in that video?
  • Sneti_Joker #15 4 years ago

Some of you people are a bunch of spoiled idiots. Sub-par? Shit? Do you have any idea how much work goes into projects like this, how many talented people work off their asses to realize a dream, a hardcore RPG for the PC? And what they get in return is internet whining, oh, their engines *always* look like shit. Certainly, if you ARE LOOKING THROUGH SHIT instead of eyes.

    Idiots.

Calm down dear, its only a commercial.

Oh and I dont think bioware were involved in NWN2?

    Dargon!

    Here be Dargons!
  • Azazel #18 4 years ago

"Toime for a bit 'O the rough and tomble!"
  • pauleyc #19 4 years ago

The gameplay looks much better than the lacklustre cinematic trailer from a few days ago.
  • penhalion #20 4 years ago

    @Sneti_Joker

People have a right to their own opinions. They certainly don't buy a game based on how much effort a developer put into it and rightly so. My wallet isn't for giving out charity. The sad thing is that YOU don't have any idea how much effort goes into this stuff either yet you still seem to think you have the right to call someone else an idiot. Nuff said.
  • Spanky #21 4 years ago

    /fires ineffectual arrow
    "Have at you"

Needs more realistic tearing, lod fuckups and fogging, this is a bioware game after all.
  • Eraysor #22 4 years ago

First Prince of Perisa, now Dargon Age?
  • Sneti_Joker #23 4 years ago

@penhalion: yes, aren't we happy we live in a day and age everyone can have an opinion anytime on anything. So my opinion on anyone with such comments is: IDIOT. And I'm pefectly well entlitled to it, too, since on the internet anyone can say anything about whatever topic. So go cry me a river. When and if such people will cease giving idiotic comments, I will cease calling them idiots.
  • GuiltySpark #24 4 years ago

How is it an idiotic thing to say that the graphics are sub-par?

I don't care how much effort went into it, if the graphics aren't very good then they aren't very good...

I'm not gonna spend £40 on a game which looks like crap and say "Ah well, they tried!" am I?

Dargons are the new dragons! In summary I am to blame and am ever so sorry how can I repay you would you like something?

You sound like a disgruntled game developer. Maybe you are in the wrong field if you can't take the heat! Hmm maybe try nursery school teaching.
  • shamblemonkee #27 4 years ago

Call them Drogans next time please.
  • groovychainsaw #28 4 years ago

Wooo - They made Baldur's Gate 3! (Without having to pay for the license). This is good news!
  • Snidesworth #29 4 years ago

Isometric combat with full party control? Fantastic. This does far more for me than the crappy trailer did.
  • Melan #30 4 years ago

Isometric gives you the full control of combat, and it look like you control the whole group. there should be plenty of strategy when your fighting monsters. (if bioware does this right)

Must admit this looks like how rpg's imo should play, there hasn't exactly been a massive improvement in the genre recently.
  • ExplodingClown #32 4 years ago

More Mass Effect than Baldur's Gate, but no bad thing if they can avoid the more tiresome fantasy cliches.

Still, it'll have to go some to beat The Witcher imho (Planescape: Torment still holds the all-time RPG crown, but no-one's picking up that licence as far as I know). Needs more decapitations/traumatic amputations/general explicit violence (toggle-able for the twinks, of course).

Gah..this thing is awful. THIS thing was supposed to be the successor to BG2? Um..It looks EXACTLY like NWN2 and we all know how that turned out. And we have Securom to look forward to. What a waste.

Bioware has indeed fallen flat on their collective asses. All the talent that made Baldurs Gate 2 has LEFT THE BUILDING for greener pastures. Greg and Ray sold out big time..they should go back to being proctologists.
  • Amblin #34 4 years ago

ooo another piece of tosh called an rpg, looks good but untimately nothing new but with bioware behind the wheel it will be well polished.
  • foamy #35 4 years ago

Who the fuck cares it looks like NWN2? That was made by Obsidian, this one's made by Bioware. Obsidian only takes care of Bioware sequels. Imho, Bioware's rate of awesome games is among the highest in the industry.

I just need them to keep up the work supporting the mod community, so people can make their own online servers for other people to play.
  • SeesThroughAll #36 4 years ago

Obsidian actually is mostly composed of those brilliant people behind Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II, you know...
  • foamy #37 4 years ago

Still, they've done nothing awesome. KotOR 2 and NWN 2 were crap compared to the originals.
  • foamy #38 4 years ago

Btw, does anyone know if this is based on D&D rules?
  • boyscout #39 4 years ago

  • CouldntResist #40 4 years ago

    @Sneti_Joker

Since when is it idiotic to call subpar graphics subpar?
  • Skywise #41 4 years ago

oh my, the combat looks dreadful and the dialogue will be spoiled by the voice-acting. I hope they'll use the Mass Effect engine for more of their games.
  • Ryuken #42 4 years ago

"Obsidian actually is mostly composed of those brilliant people behind Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II, you know... "

Oh yeah, Feargus Urquhart was really the main man on BG series heh? I guess Chris Avellone wrote every dialogue line in the BG games as well... no, seriously, the only BG game Black Isle was really involved in was the canned BG3 aka Jefferson.

And DA looks a lot more like BG than like ME, NWN2 also looked and played more like BG which was a good thing. I think we can count on Bioware getting the camera and controls completely right unlike Obsidian did with NWN2. Just look at the interviews they did this E3, this ain't no console RPG port.
  • the_mtfr #43 4 years ago

Although I think the Dargon Age gfx is OK, it's amazing what CD Projekt RED did with this engine for The Witcher graphics-wise.

And I think the Black Isle games have a little more feeling than the Bioware ones for some reason.
  • otto #44 4 years ago

Wow, looks pretty good, a lot better than the first screenshots suggested. Very immersive, definitely a step up from NWN and BG. Graphically at any rate.

  • makeamazing #46 4 years ago

Im not sure of it to be honest. The story could be the making or breaking of it... so lets hope its good :D
  • Grayvern #47 4 years ago

The graphics are the same quality zoomed in as NWN was zoomed out ie better.

But I dont care as long as the graphics dont get in the way of gameplay I care more about story and rpg mechanics.

Lord of the Rings: Dragon Age, a prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
  • Azazel #49 4 years ago

    RELEASE THE LOLHOUNDS!
  • Caimbeul #50 4 years ago

Looks like it has potential to be grat but the voice acting is certaily not up to bioware standard. I look forward to it with interest, it seems to be an attemp at a modern day baldurs gate (which is what most fans want). People should just just stop moaninf and be thankful that it is being made at all! have faith in Bioware.
  • KreyAtiv #51 4 years ago

Drag on for ages more like.
Not really sure about this one.
