It says Forza 2 and Forza 2 comparison video in the main page.
  • rotmm #2 2 years ago

Yes, and the vid keeps stopping for me at about 14 seconds and will go no further.

    same here, it's bugged

For me it crashed at about 3 mins in, everything went green and crackly.

On the actual video though... it's tough to tell the difference sometimes, but in actuality the games look a lot different.

In some parts, I am actually shocked at how good Forza 2 and how bad Forza 3 looks.

The Ford at ~1:30 in Laguna Seca has severe lighting issues (namely the reflections don't update with every frame, which REALLY distract from the good looks) for example.

The tracks look much better in 3 though (well New York at night looks good in 2 too)

man.. no matter how much i love EG but videos on your site were always a pain :( stutering, failurs in compression , long loading times etc... and i have a 25Mbit connection... so please, get it straight like Gametrailers

    thank you :)

Side-by-side comparisons, or your video is meaningless, guys. Apart from reminding me how awesome Forza 2 looks, I'm not getting any value out if this video because I can't compare anything.

hell, that's put me off upgrading to 3. 2 still looks dandy enough.
  • dominalien #9 2 years ago

Yes, the video dies at ~3:00 mins for me, too.

Is it just me or does Forza 2 really look more impressive?

It certainly doesn't 'in the flesh', so to speak.

As people have mentioned, you really can't appreciate the improvements from videos. Forza 2 already looked very good, but there's more detail on the cars and around the tracks, better shadows, and better colour. I would add though that some tracks look far better than others. The Catalunya track looks especially nice, Nurburgring too. But regardless of image, the handling is even more realistic than before. Love the new 'Storefront' and it's now even easier to create images and designs for bodyworks. I still wish Turn 10 would look further afield for some new tracks. Australia springs to mind as having several tracks better than a couple of the new editions. As aways, I'm far more interested in having many more tracks than a game full of uncompetitive pointless slow, shit cars. The proper racing cars are superb. The kids-runarounds, family cars, salemen's workhorses are dull and unexciting... leave those crappy cars for GT. Fewer cars, more tracks in future please.

So practically no visual improvement. Good to know.

I played 3 then 2 back to back the other night and there's a substantial difference. Also if anyone has been thinking about getting a wheel for this I can really recommend it (and the MS one is only £60). Takes some getting used to after a pad, but once you're there it's seriously impressive.
Can't wait for a 3D version in the future!

It is very similar, half the time you can't tell if you don't look at the speedo etc.

Video needs better music though :)
