Also, it seems that Diablo is becoming more and more complicated. The times where it was a simple button masher, which made it so popular in the first place, are long gone. That's sad because I didn't quite like Diablo II for this very reason.

Maybe the mousepointer is confusing you, or the Windows/Mac announcement.

But if Blizzard releases a game in which all you do is to leftclick some stuff and grind away then it's the second coming. Graphics aside, that game looks terribly old, and cutscenes in little boxes are totally SuperNintendo.

Seeing how WoW is firmly rooted in Diablo 2, that's not all that surprising. Though you got it the wrong way round.
Why is everyone so excited by this? It looks amazingly average.
Well, do you like Diablo? For many people it is one of the best games ever made, so I am not sure where your surprise about the excitement comes from.

Well, that is understandable because Blizzard is the creator of Diablo. The game set benchmark, hence why so many games are called "Diablo Clone".
The same applies to GTA and "GTA Clones".
Get over it.

Looking at this vid made me think back to 1 and 2, but have to say, made me think of Spartan: Total Warrior, too, but with extra depth. Which is a very good thing
Also, re: music. Yeah, sounds a bit too orchestral and epic - maybe it's there to stop you from thinking you're a greengrocer throwing cabbages on the floor? I swear, if you filter out the music, all that death-dealing sounds like Gordon making the motherlode of sauerkraut. Just saying...

Anyways, Diablo III looks fantastic. I just hope the RPG elements are solid... and that I comes out on 360, cos there's no way my PC will run this, and no way I can afford a new one

Also wasn't really that excited by this until actually seeing it. My only wish would to have a little bit more nethack style depth, like unidentified potions and experimentation etc, but I doubt it'll happen.

He's said you can play it with just the mouse. What exactly are you complaining about? The different moves? The types of enemies? Depth =/= complexity.
