If anything, MMOs produce nice cinematics :)

Who is that cyber-Batman looking character?

Hahahaha okay :p I rephrase my question then: why is Batman all cyber-looking?
  • SClaw #5 1 year ago

Because he got blown up by a Joker rocket in the last video. Etc.

    My thoughts exactly Scurrminator

That is Batman, must have survived the hanging with the Lasso of Truth and the missile from Joker. I believe this cinematic is set between the death of Superman and Future Lex releasing the exobytes at present day. Raises more questions than answers.

Because it's the future, and as we all know (thanks to comics), in the future we will all be sooper-dooper-cyber and stuff.

Hell, I'm so excited I've already hacked off my legs in preparation for teh awesome new appendages I will be receiving.

    /looks below waist

/realises that may not have been wise.

On another point, given that the events of the game are canonical, is all this stuff being dealt with in the comics as well?

Wouldn't surprise me if they have another Countdown-style series going on.

They are meant to be releasing a line of comics.

It might actually be an opportunity for me to dip into DC. When I last checked for some reason Batman wasn't Batman (Robin was Batman or something) and everyone looked friggin' depressed. I don't understand this multiple universe stuff. One earth is confusing enough.

The game is actually great for lore... but I still don't know what's going on. I just know punching people is fun.

Yeah, Batman got hurled back in time by Darkseid I think (at the end of Infinite Crisis?). Something to do with the Anti-Life Equation and a bullet that goes faster than time. I think. Everyone thought he was dead, so they all had a bit of a punch-up to decide who would become the new Batman (as you do in comic-land) and it eventually fell to Nightwing. Then Batman came back, Nightwing went back to being Nightwing, and the new Robin is the bastard child Batman had with Talia al'Ghul.

I think that's the gist of it.

On that note, I bet they bring Darkseid in as the next big villain after the Brainiac era is done.

Close. Batman has come back but Dick Grayson is still Batman ( at least in Detective Comics and Batman) but Bruce is planning to globalise and have Batmen in cities all over Earth. He's in two new titles as Batman called "Batman Inc" and "Batman The Dark Knight" but Dick is staying on as the main Gotham Batman whilst Bruce sorts out all the other stuff.
  • Scopeh #12 1 year ago

    colour me confused.
  • AOFanboi #13 1 year ago

"Batman Inc"? Are they turning Batman into Booster Gold's ancestor? Or is it just slurping ideas from Tony Stark/Iron Man?

The video was well made, but did not make that much sense - at least until the next "chapter" I guess.

I thought it was a bit cheeky blowing up superman's holiday home.
