Can there be such a thing as reverse advertising? I was mildly interested in BF3 before having to watch several hundred identical adverts for it. Note to marketeers: I'll give it a miss now.

Weirdly, I was going to post pretty much the same thing as PinktotheLast - I've seen that BF3 advertisement so many times that it is starting to put me off the brand.

I *was* a guaranteed day one buyer, but this saturation, in June and July, is making me feel a tiny bit sick of it.

Deus Ex looks pretty good though!

I agree with the comments about the BF3 ad, is it the only one eurogamer have got ?
  • telboy007 #4 11 months ago

Cool! Not only is it shooting, its also reading and talking and minigames!

    /sarcasm

They could have sold that a bit better as the game looks flipping amazing.

I just hate it that I'm forced to watcha fucking BF3 advertisement every time I want to watch something on EG.
Marketing is necessary but it doesn't have to be so incredibly forced on people just like M$ with their fucking Kinect ads or whatever.

Also Deus Ex looks really nice this game has great potential hope they don't screw up major with it.

You don't have to watch any ads, just click on "High" or "720p HD" as soon as the page loads.

mine is set on high, i just re-click it again to bypass the ad....could work with normal too

I Loved Invisible War on the Original Xbox, what with throwing random cardboard boxes and killing the NPC's in one fell swoop. Lol

"We didn't want to be a sci-fi universe." He knows what 'sci-fi' means, right?

Facial animations look a bit ridged and dated :/

just release the thing will you!
  • trip919 #13 11 months ago

So dull, I couldn't even get to the end of it. I really hope this game is fantasic but all the media they've released for it has been a big fat meh.

Regardless of the character stiffness, the world looks incredibly well realized.

Really looking forward to this - proper old school game.

I have no fear of games where the advertising and pre-release media is underwhelming. What I love about my favourite games could never be packaged in a two-minute trailer/interview clip. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in finding all of the build up stuff a complete waste of time and money.

Didn't know Ally Sheedy was working on this.

I'm thinking of pre-ordering but I'm unsure if it's actually gonna be good. I was super hyped after the first few CGI Movies which I think looked incredible, but the game itself doesn't look that good. Especially the characters, they look sort of PS2-graphics like... I'll be playing on PC with max settings but still!

The beta of this game on the PC, which I tried a few missions of, was all kinds of wonderful so I can't wait to play the finished, polished product which I have on pre-order. The amount of freedom you have to tackle the missions is just so refreshing and the only gripe I have is that the heavily brown/orange tinted graphics aren't all that great.

I really hope this is good, but it looks like they are using the same character animations from the first game.

I'm looking forward to this. it''s true, the character animation is a bit stiff, but the animation in Fallout 3 was also pretty stiff andI loved that game. And the facial animation in Batman: Arkham Asylum was rubbish, but is still an amazing game. And on the flipside, LA Noire has amazing facial animation, yet I've seen a number of posts saying it doesn't live up to expectations (no personal experience there yet, though).

My point is, if this game delivers a good story, and can create a good atmosphere, I'll easily over look those short comings. And I''m liking the art style at least. At the moment, I've seen nothing to shatter my cautious optimism. Just hope I'm not dissapointed.
