This looks loads awesomer than I imagined... my cynical nature had me imagining a lazy cash-in.

Just as it should be: crates and vents all over the place.

It is a lazy cash in,this should of been in the original game but thanks to the xbox it was cut.

I'm throwing my money at the screen, it's not working! get this on steam now so I can throw my credit card at it :D

Day 1 for me, I think.

But I'll have to load some savegame before the boat then. Or start all over, as I have already completed the game. And is the game design smart so I can do a replay with my upgrades? Nope. I have to start all over again and do everything from the start. That's part of what I like about the Mass Effect series. I can play the game again with all the stuff I picked up on my first playthrough. Giving the replay extra value as I can now do stuff which I couldn't do in my first.

@emil.albaek: The devs have said that you select the DLC from the menu, and play it any time you want rather than having to load a save game.

I love how the sony fanboys have jumped on the "my optical format is bigger than your optical format" bandwaggon all of a sudden. The only thing that might have been cut because of the xbox DVD format is the resolution of the cut scene videos. At well over 30 hours of game play you can hardly accuse Eidos of cutting out levels so they can flog a "lazy cash in". And at 5 hours long with engine improvements it doesn't look lazy at all.

I personally can't wait to hand over a few more quid, it looks great.

They should've called this DLC Deus Ex: Sons of Liberty. This looks very Metal Gear-y. I like it!

Looks pretty tasty. Hope they make a sequel too.

@Nithron I still think a replay+ option would be preferrable. Starting completely over just sucks so bad :/
  • Nithron #12 8 months ago

@emil.albaek: Agreed, especially as some of the augments only serve to make the game less frustrating, like the Jump Really High augment or the Run Further Than An Asthmatic Smoker upgrade. Playing it again from the start without that stuff just seemed kinda clunky, although, i still did it anyway.

@marmaduke indeed, that's what happens when devs run out of ideas and can't innovate gameplay wise.
    Still a good game nontheless.

I'll probably pick this up regardless, as I'm enjoying Deus Ex:HR a hell of a lot at the moment. But I'm slightly dissapointed that the section at the start, where your augs are disabled, still has the magical highlight vision and radar. I'd have prefered it to use a zero-ui interface on this section, like in the games prologue mission. Would have made for greater immersion, as it always seemed obvious the augs were responsible the tactical display. Though it may have made the game a bit more awkard.
