Demon's Souls - Trailer

Published 5 January, 2009 Duration 3:08

PS3 exclusive Demon's Souls left a few people with a taste of mild disappointment at TGS, but this latest trailer has gone home, thought about what it's done and damn well pulled out its finger to become a fine young member of society. Chunky.

That's got a great tone to it. Refreshing. Visually engaging. I'll have to seek out an account in English, of others' hands-on experience with this game.

That actually looks pretty interesting. Much more so than I was expecting after seeing just some play footage previously.

It has a rather understated atmosphere that runs counter to the garish excesses typical of the genre.

Yeah, the initial trailer looked god awful. I wonder if this is going to have an Oblivion-esque free roamy world?

Brown........ Sony might introduce another colour palette in a firmware update soon I hope!

@TafKas - Thats a bit harsh! I def saw some grey in there too... I hear we're getting some more colours soon tho.

Actually, the outdoor scenes looked quite interesting until we went inside and it just turned into a brown / grey Kingdom Under Fire clone. Can't say it did anything for me. Oh well.

I am amazed how the quality this game is looking given that I had rock bottom expectations the moment I saw the name "From Software" at the beginning.

I've like a few "From Software" games tbh. Can't think of any since the Dreamcast "grey import" days tho. Loved Frame Gride on my DC.

Dunno why but this game reminded me of 'severance - blade of darkness'.

looks interesting though, as those abve me said seems to have a intriguing aesthetic.

I like From Software a lot, what other company is as ecletic as this. They manage to do from Tenchu to Enchanted Arm...

personally didn't do anything fot me. the aesthetics of the whole thing left me cold. will be curious to see how this pans out. From Software have developed something of a cult following.

So what the hell are you then, just some knight? I might be tired and a little peeved that im back at work but i couldnt really grasp what was going on or who was fighting whom....pretty tho.

Looks pretty interesting, but my main concern is that From Software are developing. Will keep a close eye on this one; looks like it could be the next Folklore - a good fantasy adventure that no-one buys.
