Frightening people is a tricky business. There's a lot of established conventions and tricks, but a hardened horror fan is going to be ready for them. Here, the Dead Space devs talk about what they've got up their collective scary sleeves.

    Scrolled through this vid at work now... looks like a Doom 3 clonevolution with triggered scripted spooky-traps. Looks nice though.

    If just one thing mysteriously and unexplained appears behind me in an area I have already cleared I'll simply walk away from this. I'm hoping the days when developers feel the need to cheat the player are gone.

    The crap in doom where a wall would open to reveal an enemy imp was just rediculous. It got laugh out loud silly when you picked up armour and walls slid back to reveal a demon ambush!

    Dead space better not employ any of those cheats.

    Sounds like they know what they are talking about, hopefully this will be a fresh take on the genre.

    game looks like it is brilliant apart from the weapons seem to give it a drag
