    You should call it a quick look
  • Mark1412 #3 8 months ago

    This made me chuckle, much better having some narration than footage alone.
  • exenpipp #4 8 months ago

    @lockload: No, that would be a total rip-off of GiantBombs video feature, something Talkthrough totally isn't!

    Also, at 27 minutes, it's not that quick.
  • Stranded87 #6 8 months ago

    Watching this made me feel like i'm good at games.
  • jablonski #7 8 months ago

    I don't get this.

    It's like a film commentary by someone who had nothing to do with the making of it.

    What's the purpose?
  • chrisjm #8 8 months ago

    trolls can now claim they have played it when they hatin'

    I like seeing some gameplay videos, I liked the look off this game but didn't buy it, so watching some actual gameplay will help in a decision whether or not to buy when price drops/i've got the time to play games :)
  • Mark1412 #10 8 months ago

    "But I still don't understand who wants to watch footage of someone playing a videogame anyway"

    Yeah, well, I felt the same about the 15 minute videos, at least this has some kind of small purpose beyond spoiling the opening of the game.

    @exenpipp

    Really never heard of that ;-)
  • Bravestinsane #12 8 months ago

    @Oli

    27minutes is quick when it took me 27 hours to complete the game ;)

    Lucky it's not Sam Bo, eh?

    Welcome to poshgamer.net. Jolly hockey sticks and cucumber sandwiches all round! Pip Pip!

    I actually quite like these video talk throughs. The guys seem easy to relate to, and the point is that your not gonna be getting some kind of "This is totally 100% awsome" talk from a dev who obviously has a vested interest in hyping the game up. Personally I hope they keep doing these segments.
  • xenomorph83 #16 8 months ago

    poshgamer.net? what because they are british? or because they dont sound like they have just walked off the set of shameless? give them a break sheesh.
  • TagemandBagem #17 8 months ago

    "video talkthrough"

    That is so unwieldy. It's a Quicklook. No embarrassment in admitting you were inspired by Giantbomb.
  • Bravestinsane #18 8 months ago

    @TagemandBagem

    agreed, its one of their more successful things they do, no shame at all in doing it.

    and Giantbombs quick looks can be up to 40minutes long.

    Its still quick when you take into consideration how long the game lasts.
  • comedyjack #19 8 months ago

    Problem number 1 being unable to get hold of a copy.
  • RawNinjaKid #20 8 months ago

    Looks shit! No detail in the environments. The action seem dull, no real feeling of tension or any atmosphere at all. Don't really care for the "story" set-up as well.

    The bog standard, big seller!

    @RawNinjaKid, to be honest watching someone else play while they are talking over the games audio/story wont do any game any favours.

    But there is a reason why no one can get hold of the game right now.. because its actually very good... and extremely entertaining, it's what playing games is all about....I wouldnt go off watching this kind of video to make a judgement on how good a game is otherwise you might just miss out on some great games :)

    Dead Island is the best game I've played in a while. Seriously. Those who don't "get" what I'm about to say may be excused (and will no doubt use it against me) but I played it for the first time last night while pleasantly high on weed. I had trouble focusing on what I was doing due to the incredible graphics. Why is it Chrome Engine5 can easily handle trees and foliage swaying realistically in the wind while the current Skyrimm video has completely static environments? I've also had NO instances of framerate problems while playing single player (haven't tried co-op yet.) Biggest problem so far is the sense of actual paranoia, dread, and pulse quickening that occurs when the fast fuckers scream and sprint at me in groups of three. Clammy palm time fo' sho!!

  • slickster #25 8 months ago

    This guy was shit at this game LOL, Its a great game ive just completed all the sidequests and the story took about 30 hours in singleplayer might be quicker if you play in co-op. Just started my second playthough im a lvl 37 if anyone wants to play co-op let me know.

    Delightful. I was chuckling all the way through. He may be a far classier gentleman than I, but I'll happily hoover up anything with Donlan's name on it.
