de Blob - Cut-scenes and gameplay

Published 5 April, 2008 Duration 5:26

Endearing and colourful, de Blob puts you in the er, squishy boots (?) of a blob whose hometown has been invaded by a bunch colour stealing meanies, also blobs, who have imprisoned his country folk. Look, just watch the trailer, it'll be easier for all concerned.

Only bothered watching the first few seconds of gameplay footage, but it all looked a bit grey. Stupid Wii.

Still, the colors in the game don't look as convincing as the ones in the trailer. They're just not shiny enough. It's especially glaring because the musing was well chosen and it makes you expect something colorful and happy looking.

(But it can't be the Wii's fault, SMG manages bright colors superbly.)

Wow, this is what became of that game made by the dutch/german school kids?
    It's changed a hell of a lot.
Audio needs a lot of work.
I kind of prefer the gameplay style of the previous one..., this one looks a bit random and not so much emphasis on the colour.

This looks all right. I hope it increases in difficulty, as it goes along, or there's a time trial mode, or something. It looks enjoyable enough, but it also may be limited. With enough different takes on the idea included, it could be worth a punt, though.
