Darksiders - World 1-1

Published 16 December, 2009 Duration 6:27

Just past the wicked opening cinematic, and clipped to avoid key story revelations, this is a meaty chunk of the opening level, before War is stripped of many of his powers.

Does look rather boring, like prototype but without feeling as powerful.

I liked prototype but that was because how varied the combat was and how you felt so powerful once had enourgh mutating powers this on other hand didnt do it for me , also the art style seamed to clean and bright for a game about the apoclipse.

This looks excellent, the exploration and platforming elements echo games like Metroid and Soul Reaver, that alone would have been enough for me to get excited about this one but with the edition of the awesome art style (courtesy of the incredibly influential Joe Madureira) as well as the deep God of War style combat system I genuinely believe this is a (very) early contender for GOTY.

The avatar looks like a transformer, and the gameplay looks like a less satisfying God of War.

Combat looks clunky. Everything from now on should be as fluid as AA.

True enough. The problem is we've been spoilt by it now though :)

Idiots giving their judgements on mere stills or a video leaves themselves open! 8/10 from EG today clearly with a postive praises for the game plus other reviews do show that this would merits a consideration.

I haven't played the game and thus could disappoint me, but with Darksiders being mentioned in association to Shadow Complex and Batman, both games were certainly the highlights of 2009 so in a good company?!

    We ll see!
