I look forward to 2009, when I will have a PC capable of playing this game.

I deny having sex in Korea.
And wtf is up with the narrator? His voice can make the best games look dull.

But... doesn't it seem that Crytek is (a) only capable of creating one game (isn't this just Far Cry but with, er, ice bits?) and (b) becoming the iD Software of the 21st century - capable of creating great engines that then get used by other companies?
I mean seriously; there's nothing here that hasn't been seen elsewhere in terms of the actual gameplay. Sure, yes, physics, great graphics, etc. But that's all engine stuff. The rest of it (modifiable weapons, suits that give you different abilities) - how is that not a dressed-up version of just carrying different weapons or sporting different power-ups?
And non-linear gameplay... okay, we've all heard that. But I can't see that it's much different than, oh, let's say their own Far Cry.
I seriously believe this is just a game to let Crytek prove to EA that they're a world-class FPS engine creator. Right before they're bought for a shitload of cash.

IIRC, the cry engine is owned by ubi. Now that they crossed over to the dark side, they use a new engine.

Instead of North Koreans, they should be shooting whoever provided the voice-over. And the person who hired them. The laggy feel to this is awful too.
It now looks like the height of naffness - This old tired, cheesy, boring German sci-fi.
Hopefully the AI *might* save it though.

Call me old fashioned but I'd prefer things to run smoothly over covering every surface with huge textures. I'm getting Quake nostalgia...
Appreciate it's a work in progress but that looks rubbish.

Apart from that looks good to me.

Hmm not so sure about the unimaginative German Sci-fi lable*. To be honest I think the emergent gameplay it offered, coupled with the technology, simply blew Id away.
I can remember me and all my mates thinking, hey if far cry is this good imagine what dooms going to be like. What a let down, it was worse in every way than farcry (apart from some enemy designs that looked crap).
For a cheap card that should be able to have a stab at it check out the MSI7900GTO seems it can outperform the 7900GTX when overclocked.

The game got frame rate issues. Sadly with all this fuss on next gen going on at the moment more and more developers are concentrating on graphics rather than playability. Half Life 2 was awesome not only because it looked good but also because it ran as smooth as butter on most systems at the time. It also helped to have some great ideas in the game. If Crysis is anything like Far Cry in terms of gameplay than I believe it will turn out to be an average game at best.

Looks like a similar story here, bland story but the freeform gameplay and environments look superb. I also like the customisable suit and weapon modes, so many possibilities in solving a mission. That is what I really like in games, when they give you a choice in how to make progress rather than giving you Half Life 2 / Call of Duty on the rails gameplay.
