Nope, still doesn't convince me. Good graphics, bad motion, bad taste.

Now this is more like it!! Still hardly worth the price tag of a PC to run it.

Despite all its fancy-pants technology, this game doesn't grab me at all. Where's the storyline? where's the depth? What's supposed to keep me interested enough to keep playing?

    Damn, that looks pretty.

I suppose I should whine about the lack of a plot in a video designed to show me some cool graphics, but I see that someone's beaten me to the punch.

Maximum strength, maximum armour, maximum speed - so many people have complained and Crytek doesn't seem to give a rats ass.

What, about the voice? You can turn it off, but don't let that get in the way of your little rant.

So why don't they? Seriously it's more than annoying and there was no hint at all in any of the videos that you can actually turn it off. I do admit that I haven't read all the Crysis coverage out there, so that information might have passed me by.

I managed to delete my post when I wanted to edit it - the depth, if Far Cry is anything to go by, will be in the level design and AI, which is still amongst the best in the genre - both of which I find much more important than a great storyline or whatnot. Far Cry is sometimes (by people who haven't played it, i assume) accused of being a "tech demo", when nothing could be further from the truth - it really was all about the gameplay. I can't for the life of me understand how anyone even remotely interested in the genre can not look forward to Crysis, to be honest. Unless you're poor and need an excuse for yourself. ;p

Certainly a lot more interesting than the next corridor shooter.

I don't find it that annoying - onlycomplaint I've seen so far is on EG, possibly from you in a comment to an earlier video. Wouldn't make much sense to turn it off in a video that presents the suit.

Anyway, you can choose between a male and female voice, or turn it off.

UncleLou speaks the truth, the point of Crysis isn't a deep story and strong narrative. It's all in the gameplay.

didnt this video come out about a month ago?
  • MouzerMalti #12 5 years ago

Well Crysis maybe good, but FarCry2 will rise up high over any other FPS in the market.
  • Caimbeul #13 5 years ago

Just what are they using to run the game like that?? Beta ran like pants :-(

"didnt this video come out about a month ago?"

Yeah, definitely had this on EG before, I remember someone pointing out that the N. Koreans seem to be firing bullets still in their shell casings.

the game is just a showcase of the technology, i wouldn't expect much in terms of gameplay or plot. It simply sells the engine to other devs.
