Contractual obligations required them to have a game with "atleast ten hours of gameplay". That's why the monster difficulty was stupidly high toward the end. And why there wasn't "save anywhere" out of the box. Always makes me laugh when people say thy did it to increase suspense between checkpoints... it may have, as a secondary effect, but it was never the rationale.

This looks really pretty though.

Min Spec:
Intel Octa-Core Extreme Edition, OC'd to 12Ghz
4 Terrabytes of RAM
Quad 8800GTX SLI
15Gb Install Space on HDD
Vista Ultimate

Dont expect more than 25fps with that though. For a solid 60fps you are looking and triple that spec.

I can't really see the difference between the DX 9 shots and the DX 10 shots of the game. It always looks stunning.

This looks seriously impressive.. Although, it's all down to storyline and gameplay in the end.

I love the scene in the long grass right before it goes to the snowy part. Brilliant DOF (depth of field) and lighting!

Will it be coming to PS3 ?

This kinda reminds me of when unreal was first released...`ohh it will play great on a new some intel chip with mx on it, will play like no other game you have played and look fantastic`

I went through two new pc`s before unreal was released and then when mx came into use...it was surpassed by the first 3d card.

Lesson learnt....Do not believe the hype and no sooner do you get the mother of all machines..its out of date.

Looks like another tech demo to me. FarCry's storyline was poor as was the gameplay. I doubt either will have improved at all as the focus seems to be all on the graphics. The fact that EA are involved should also be of some concern.

People who claim Far Cry lacked in the game play department should get their heads examined. Gameplay wise Far Cry had all it's contemporaries soundly beaten. The open ended levels and excellent AI knocked HL 2 and Doom 3 onto a cocked hat, in that regard.

Quite impressive gfx (so far most impressive thing I've seen even amongst next-gen consoles) well put together video as well.

However, I tried brothers copy of FarCry the other day and thought, personally, it was way to bland for me. Suspect this will be too, but I await reports with interest

Exactly. Calling Far Cry a tech demo only shows that that person has no idea what a tech demo is. Far Cry was all about the level design and the AI, the graphics were just a bonus.
