Crysis Warhead - Teaser

Published 1 July, 2008 Duration 0:40

Warhead is a 'standalone expansion', which is one of those whimsically amorphous terms which seems to mean 'slightly smaller game based on the same premise as a previous one which we couldn't get a way with calling a separate game in its own right.' We can see why they use 'standalone expansion'. Anyway, in Warhead you take control of 'Psycho' the obligatory British loony from the first Crysis, and follow his jollies on the far side of the island.

    holy jesus
i wasn't entirely excited by the prospect of more supersoldier shooters, but the footage of the battlefield in this trailer is incredible.
    utterly superb explosive effects.
I would like to try it but somehow doubt this is worth the 800 quid needed for the correct upgrades. crazy germans.
(the first one also had very interesting variants on team multiplayer, anyone try it?)

£800 is a little OTT mate, unless your running a Pentium 2 or summat :) A decent vid card, processor, mobo and ram'll set you back less than £400 if you know what and where your looking for it. Still to some thats also a little excessive. Playing this on a 50" plasma in 720p with surround sound at highest settings is an indescribable experience....

Actually 800 quid is probably a little low given that even the benchmarks for the latest nvidia card the gtx 280 show that this game can't run at more than around 30 frames a second with everything turned on. This is at 1920 * 1080 mind you. Still it does show that the sales of crysis were low solely because it really doesn't run properly on anything anyone actually owns.

@penhalion: that was more or less right at the time of release, but not so anymore.
With a decent CPU (I have an E6600), 2 Gig RAM, and one of those nice new 150€ 4850 by AMD/ATI I can pretty much max Crysis out at 1680x1050. The GTX280 happens to be a bad card (I say this having owned three successive Geforce cards).

Hmmm I hated the Psycho character not sure I'd want to play as him.
