    Beautiful looking, average game.

Seen a bit of footage and screenies now. Most of it I really can't see the difference to be honest, maybe you need to see it playing on your hardware to notice. However, the reflections improvements are awesome they really bring the environment to life.

Can't wait to try it, will have to though as I won't have hardware worthy again until at least the end of the year :(

Very good graphics and the first game to benefit from the DX 11 features.
But in the area of A.I, having in mind that Crytek boasted of advanced A.I
routines, the most dissapointing game I have ever played.
The same for the story which was discontinouse just throwing you in from one
level to another with basically no plot. Overall for me this is the worst game Crytek
    has produced.
I know my last words are hard and painfull but I want to share my sincere feellings to Crytek
because I respect their hard work and talent and want every new game they release to
    become better than their previouse.

I was playing this for a few hours last night and the game definitely looks better for the DX11 enhancements although it obviously has no impact on the gameplay which was fine anyway IMO.

Some areas of the game look better than others though and it's a little surprising to note that while Crytek have redone the textures for signs, including the Fire Door one, there are still mirrored ones here and there for some weird reason (why mirror textures with writing on anyway..?). The tessellation looks great and is used well (on enemy models, walls and vehicles, including I believe wheels) and the game now has real-time reflections and much improved water effects. Debris and particle/smoke effects seem a lot better too; certainly there looks to be more of them. Definitely looks more like a 2011 PC game than it did before, though it was never an ugly game in DX9 by any means.

Runs much better than I expected too with Ultra DX11 settings at 1920x1200, I get around 45 fps on average with the lowest being 30 fps during some cutscenes with lots of effects. Runs silky-smooth throughout and the motion-blur makes the framerate feel even higher; never saw a hint of stutter or any other performance issues despite the video memory usage being 1.5 GB.

Great game made to look even better and all for nought pence. Who can complain about that, eh, other than the fact that is it a bit late? :D

    @Darren
If you would be so kind, I would like to learn the
specifications of your PC System, especailly the graphic
card and the graphic options you selected so you could
    enjoy 45 frames/sec.

@davisorle - Hence why I used the word 'obviously'! ;)

Graphics do help improve the overall experience though and immerse me more in the game world, something that is needed far more in first person shooters due to the close up nature of the view point, so while they're not as important as the gameplay, they still play a big part in my enjoyment of games.

@MMMMMM7 - I have a Core i7-920 @ 3.2 Ghz, 6 GB of RAM, GeForce GTX 580 graphics and Windows 7 64-bit. Framerate and memory usage monitored using MSI Afterburner v2.2.0 Beta 4. I played on maximum Ultra settings with Motion Blur set to High at 1920x1200. I forced triple buffering on via D3DOverrider (part of the RivaTuner package) and forced 16xAF through the game profile in the NVIDIA control panel. I'm using the 275.50 beta drivers.

    Performance comparison here: http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=...

The game is very well optimised and, of course, you gain further improvements with DX11 anyway due to it being optimised for multi-threading.

I have selfcontrol over a perfect set of tits and a great ass

Can you make them jiggle? Bounce up and down? Where did you get this power? Is it one of the undisclosed features of Kinect?

Now looks almost as good as Crysis unmoded.

This video doesn't really do justice to the changes. It looks incredible with all the DX11 features turned on. The high-res texture pack doesn't seem to make much difference although it does seriously kill your FPS if you run both the texture and DX11 packs at once. My system is no slouch (i7-920, HD 5870, 6Gb RAM) but I can only run one or the other and I can't have tessellation on Ultra (playing at 1080p). It runs slightly slower of course but the new motion blur does a fantastic job of making the game feel and look really smooth though even at 30 fps.

    that's more like it :)
  • IneptPercy #14 11 months ago

Need to measure my exact FPS but this is running silky smooth on ultra at 1080p with both packs installed on my system, love it.
