Crysis 2 - Cinematic

Published 9 April, 2010 Duration 2:12

New York's been taken over by aliens and regular human soldiers can't do anything about it. But you can, in your muscular exo-skeletan super suit. Go punch some sheds!

Looks good, video is a bit cliche though.
  • bad09 #2 2 years ago

Nice I suppose, not really worth a countdown on a website though.

I really wish companies would ditch teasers, all they do is piss you off because they never show you the important thing...THE GAME!

/ waits for some actual game footage, which would get him excited

    Being emotionally involved in this
epic battle in New York is for me
the bingo factor of this Crysis 2
    trailer.

In FPS games you shoot and kill
    enemies and most times the
    whole prosses becomes mechanical
    and repetetive not undertstanding
that you are actually killing. Seeing this
trailer makes you feel that you must jump
in and HELP the desperate situation people
have found themselfs in after the
catastrophe the alien invasion has created.

    A professional science fiction writer
Richard Morgan ia added to the taleneted
Crytek firm and I believe that the game will
deliver a new level of story telling and action
where choices have moral and ethical
    concequences.

The most valueable thing in the history of
humanity is human life. Dostogiefsky wrote:

'As long as there is still ONE child diying
from hunger in some place of this planet
our civilization that we feel so proud of, will
    never be justified'.

I just hope Crysis 2 delivers this level of
feelings in the background of my head while
playing it this Christmas. I also hope they
    don't underestimate the importance of
clever AI. In the first Crysis I remember
hiding in those steel container boxes
and killing easilly from inside dozens
of enemies like silly duks. Oh and off
    course the containers were never
    damaged no matter how many
    grenades fell around.

    About the nanosuit I think
    they are slightly overdoing
with it making it too large and
clumpsy like a Big Daddy from
    Bioshock 2.

Crysis 2 is hopefully going to be a
    great science fiction thriller setting
as its predecessor new standars not
only in graphics but also in story
    telling and (I hope) ARTIFICIAL
    INTELLIGENCE !

    @kangarootoo
    I was reffering to human
    enemies not alien ones.
    Basically in war games
like FPS ones, the main part of
    the gameplay is constructed around
the killing. The moral part has to do
with why you are killing. Are you
killing because you have to survive,
save civillians, serve your country from
invaders etc. Then killing is not
your choice it is the result of your self
defence. And deffending your life , your
country your family by my opinion is
something you are obliged to do.

great music choice, but what's up with the calves of the dude in the suit? they're twice the size of his thighs/arms
  • sneetch #8 2 years ago

Man those poor New Yorkers, it sometimes seems like every alien invader has some personal against that town.

    @JahB
To say nothing of his "buns of steel"! ;)

    m7, its a game.
  • illusiondance #10 2 years ago

oh christ, not another game set in newyork.
at least the early shots looked pretty cute. (i get the distinct feeling e.a are spooling this one up for a film treatment)

    @MMMMMM7

Hmmm, I guess the music touched you are something. I thought it was a bit cheesy myself.

Yeah, I'm sure the end result will be just like that. And it won't be at all the machine like killing we see in other FPS games. Oh no, not a bit of it. Players will probably cry everytime they punch an alien in the 'face'. "You see their faces every time you close your eyes" and so on, no doubt.

they need to fire their marketing guy, the music was so bad in this trailer, i had to mute the computer.
  • Red-Moose #13 2 years ago

Looks cool! I really liked Crysis, it was like a less kitsch version of GoW, a little bit of Splinter Cell thrown in.
  • Lukree #14 2 years ago

Someone has clearly seen that pretty decent catastrophy film where something is walking around NY. :)
  • Shrike #15 2 years ago

Trailer is better when you imagine that it's the supersoldier guy singing.
  • Caimbeul #16 2 years ago

In game characters on PC look better than those in that cinematic.

Yeah, let's pick New York as a backdrop for apocalyptic action. That's, like, so underused...
  • Alatair #18 2 years ago

A trailer about new york and the soundtrack isn't something by lou reed?
  • barnettbeans #19 2 years ago

YES very cliché. But I love that feel and contrast between a slow beautiful voice and an action scene. So bravo to the cinematic team. What the games like well god knows.
  • E_Goldstein #20 2 years ago

nicely done that. I just find it hard to get excited about another FPS these days.
  • Tehren #21 2 years ago

Sweet. Taking Crysis to NYC could be just the ticket.

Super Soldier vs Aliens. Why has nobody thought of this before?
  • YoungPayters #25 2 years ago
