I see no reason why PC people should switch from the existing cs to this? Why Valve?

Updated visuals, more maps, more game modes, more weapons, ranked match making, cross-platform play.

Did you not watch the video?

Cross-platform play am I understanding that correctly? 360 vs PS3 vs PC or am I being dumb. Looks great, I loved playing counter-strike when I had a PC.

They really don't get how to do a new CS. If they keep offering the same old maps with new visuals as in Condition Zero, CS: Source and now GO, people will always complain that the 1.6 versions are superior. Because they are. The less fancy the graphics are, the better the gameplay, because all those effects and details distract from enemy visibility. If they want to do a great new CS do it like Halo Anniversary. 1.6 maps and gameplay with optional on-the-fly switch to modern graphics. That would work, as everybody would be able to play the way they want to. Or just make a new CS with new maps, so nobody can compare them to the past iterations. It can't be that hard to come up with a couple of good new maps after ten years.

I think people need to get off their high horse when it comes to a new version of Counter Strike. Get over it, if you want to play 1.6, it's still there but don't make us people who want a new CS game read your comments on hitboxes and balance.

    It's just boring.

in this case cross platform play means that PC-Mac-PS3 players can play together.
  • syra #7 9 months ago

Lol xbox having cross platform, over microsofts rotting corpse maybe.

Every time I see more counterstrike stuff I get that itch...you know the one... to go back in and get some long range short burst headshots with an ak or dually rush. The pace of the game is fantastic. Shame I suck at shooters because I havn't played one in 5 years...

more maps and more game modes? They have said it will come with 6 maps based off original maps. And the only modes are bomb and hostage.

updated visuals? My CSS looks better than that vid... I'm not wasting my monies on this as all the new maps will be made by modders for css & new game modes will become mods on css... See Zombies, Zombies escape & GG for examples!

I hope they have the magnum. I am sure they can do a better video.
  • Iain815 #11 9 months ago

I have to be honest, that was a bit disappointing.
  • whoyouknow #12 9 months ago

    Oh fuck. Buying a PS3.

I'm looking forward to some cs_office 24/7 servers. I wonder if Teesside will be running CS:GO alongside CS:S...
  • viper_h #14 9 months ago

No... No. No no no no no. I would not pay more money for this. I'm a PC game player who already has CS and CS:S and I will not pay more money to play the same game with slightly better graphics and radial menus.

This is obviously Valve cashing into the console market, just like they did with Portal 2, and they can go do one.

    Bastards.
