Colin McRae: DIRT - Trailer

Published 30 March, 2007 Duration 1:18

There was some argument about the in-game nature of the last trailer we posted for DIRT. Naysayers should take note of the caption at the beginning of this one. Then start flaming wildly anyway.

Well.... it doesn't look as good as the pre-rendered trailer from yesterday thats for sure (strangely enough). Looks good, but pretty standard next gen now to be honest. From an artist point of view, I was hoping they would be able to do something special, and come closer to the particle count seen in the previous trailer, but looks like the PS3 can't get any where near that.

All these pre-rendered movies that Sony keep putting out remind me of the bad old days, when publishers would put C64 screenshots on the back of the speccy game box

Damn the music makes my head hurt.

It looks quite nice but nowhere as good as the last one. But I'm interested.

Still not seeing that next gen vibe. I'm expecting to see the tracks of previous racers, I'm expecting next gen not ps2/xbox with nicer graphics and that's my main complaint with every game released so far on any system. Can someone tell me when we actually start seeing next gen games?

"Can someone tell me when we actually start seeing next gen games?"

Probably never: too complicated for developers and nice graphics are an easy sell.

    LittleBigPlanet's "next gen"!

"This video is for the following formats:"

How can it be for all 3? it must be one of them on screen.

I think it looks pretty good!

Does anyone know the song this is? I rather like it...reminds me of gt1.

But this has actually made me want to buy this now, hadn't even considered it before. Shame i'll have to go nextgen to buy it...

@JoeBananas: Great - go on blaming Sony/PS3 for the follies of Codemasters. Don't you think it is plain stupid to whine about PS3 when this game is coming out on three platforms, and as far as I know, cross platform games usually look as good as the limits of the 'weakest' platform (a strictly relative term), in this case the 360.

Yes, the water is horrible, and the sleet-soaked streets in the snow-filled locale are also below par. But we should keep in mind that this is a work in progress. We all know the devs can extract all sorts of particle counts and spectacular effects from 360/PS3 if they know where to cut corners.

But of course, Sony are evil and PS3 is horrible, so there.

graphicly wise the 360 is not the weakest platform, come to think of it when has a ps3 trailer not been pre renderd?. the ps3 has the cell which isnt much more powerful than the theoretical 6 cores of the 360. the ps3 has a stuck on semi dedicated graphics card that is pretty old for when it came out and rushed. the 360 mean while has a dedicated graphics card designed for the console straight out were ps3 got nvidia to make them a graphics card as an after thought.
