Personally I do not understand why this game is being given such a big push right now - instead of closer to launch.

Spoiling tactics - to undermined Bad Company? Can't think of much else.

Or wanting to pre-empt the flack they are receiving (unfairly in my book) without anyone having any product to review?

I'd say it looks quite promising - with Treyarch a little peeved that they have never been given a realistic time frame to develop anything of great quality before.

Well the proof will be in the eating of this one. They have had over 2 years with an engine completed before the project began.

That said, I await the Wii version with some anticipation - what will it look like - good I hope.

Stop talking about how cinematic it is.

I'm not buying it for those 9 hours of singleplayer. I'm buying for the 500 hours of multiplayer...

The sooner some one releases a game where you fight as 'the other side' the better.
Eg. Japan, Nazi's, Muslims, anyone not western. Against America, obviously.

A proper Pearl Harbour game would be good actually.

Since when is TREYARCH in a position to insult the far better BIA, look at their COD BRO, and 3, they failed,

now look at BIA's scores......Dumb kids, BIA kills.

BIA is the highest rated WW2 of all time....yet "it's not competition for them"...right, pricks!

I don't relish the though as playing as Germans, say what you want but GERMANY was the BAD GUYS, they were an evil and vile army that committed genocide and wanted to take over the world, same with Pearl Harbor, I don't think much of the USA would want to play as imperial Japan attacking. This might play well in other countries but the USA is a cashcow and they do not want to alienate it.

What kind of question is "a war game" or "anti war game"? WTF?
What would an antiwar game be? Where you just let someone kill you?

Ok, Treyarch, considering you are the "underdog" (in your own words) perhaps you should talk about other development teams with a bit more respect, like the supposed respect you are apparently showing to the content and authenticity of your game (I'll believe it when I see it).

The arrogance shown by Treyarch in this interview is astounding. You are giving crap to a development team (Gearbox) that has already released 2 WW2 titles that have an average Gamerankings score of 87.9% (BiA: RTH30 - 7 out of 10 reviews over 90%) and 83.9% (BiA: EiB - 6 out of 10 reviews over 85%) for the PC versions alone.

Gearbox have a DEDICATED historian (Col John Antal US Army Ret.). The battles depicted in the BiA series ACTUALLY OCCURED, and aren't just some random missions based around an historical event which has some loosely based factuality.

The BiA team have shown nothing but absolute passion and a drive to recreate as authentically as possible the Airborne operations of WW2. For you (Treyarch) to come along and belittle Gearbox's title as a "crappy wargame" (especially after your past lumps of turd) you have some nerve.

Treyarch have a lot to live up to if they think they can take on BiA: Hells Highway.

BRAVO BALLISTIC!!!!

Treyarch, that crappy interview just lost a lot of hope for the next COD. I surely wont buy it. Think of it, an underdog WW2 developer INSULTING a FAR superior Developer(Gearbox), it's pathetic!

BIA WILL ALWAYS outclass ANYTHING Treyarch does, Treyarch is just another shoot em up WW2 game just with a scary and more bloody gameplay, but under all that, it's just another crappy war game, with all the inaccuracies.

BIA is the most realistic and authentic WW2 game that has ever existed and WILL ALWAYS be more realistic.

The Gearboxity website was laughing at Treyarch at this interview, because looking at all BIA has done with itself, (realism, best war story of any game, real life characters, real life tactics, real life weaponry, real life battles), and it's dedication to giving THE BEST AND FINEST WW2 GAME EVER. Then looking at what Treyarch has done with it's CODs (fake storylines, fake characters, no tactics, no realistic weapons, no realism, and horrid authenticity), and now they think they will out due someone as big and bad ass as BIA?!?!?!........NEVER!!

BIA is light-years ahead of Treyarch, it's is no comparison, BIA kills Treyarch and eats it for breakfast ALL THE TIME.

Just look at BIA's scores, and look at COD BRO, and COD3's scores.

This just shows how weak and poor Treyarch really is, that's why their games suck. Hell, that fat guy looks like he's on heroin or crack, not the professional look Col. Antal has, he's an actual Airborne Ranger!. Now look how poor that obese guy with all the gothic drug ridden clothing looks........Hardly professional.

Good job to all at the Gearbox team for your PROFESSIONALISM and devotion to history, and devoting everything to the FINEST WW2 series of ALL TIME, that legacy stands strong and proud today, and there is no competition of any kind on the horizon.

Gearbox, you guys ROCK!!!!

Well it's not that they are Americans, BIA is also American, and their as nice as can be. But Treyarch, they're just the low rated game company, who gets pleasure out of making it seem like they are gonna kill everything and kick everyone's ass, but as we all saw, the round porky one pulled one over on Gearbox, which is FAR better and more professional than Treyarch will ever be, and after seeing that drug ridden fat tub of lard insult someone as proud and respected as BIA, we all just laughed and said, "We'll see about that".

Now COD 5 may be a great success, and maybe not, but it wont out class BIA, thats the way it is, COD is a run&gun series, killing masses of enemies, taking thousands of rounds to the body, get from point A to point B, rinse, and repeat the cycle, anyone can jump in and play, because it requires no skills, thats why everyone likes it, because they can be good at it too. BIA is a series to those gamers who want flavor in their games, it's gameplay is very different, and realistic, you actually have to have intelligence to defeat your enemy, while commanding squads of men you actually care about, as opposed to the countless random allies in COD who die by the hordes and everyone just walks over them and moves on. BIA is for what I like to call "Intelligent gamers", who longs for realism, devotion, and authenticity above everyone else's, BIA is a few, but special and skilled gamers, who are on a higher playing field than the rest of the run&gunners out there.

This interview totally destroyed any inkling I had to play COD5. They sounded like a bunch of 12 year old kids after losing a soccer game so they have to bash the other team the whole car ride to dairy queen. "...just another crappy war game," whole heartedly describes both Big Red One and COD3. Then he goes on to talk about the trailer for Hells Highway and how its "not even in the same league" when thier trailer could easily be mistaken for any number of other World War II games by someone who didnt know what they were watching. Treyarch if you by chance read any of this, fire those two pricks before you lose anymore business.

Every game forums that saw this was literally laughing their heads off at Treyarch for insulting Gearbox, hell, even Gearbox themselves had a pretty good chuckle. What AMAZINGLY POPULAR WW2 games has Treyarch ever came out with to give them the balls to try something like that with a FAR superior company like Gearbox!?!?!, you can see why everyone was laughing.

Treyarch lost roughly 1500 purchases world wide because of that interview, and Treyarch isn't exactly the company that should be throwing people's trust away, seeing as how unpopular they are, now they dug their grave even deeper!, Nice one Treyarch!, good move.

Oh well, I'm definetly not buying it now, I'll maybe just rent it, if it gets great reviews, I'm sure most of us will too.

Treyarch making rather embarrassing fools of themselves here.
What shred of interest i had in this car crash has completely evaporated.
Naďve and obnoxious.
All this shit about historical this and that, honouring soldiers. What a joke, they just want to sell a shit load of action games.
