Game seems pretty ok. flamethrower is nice. But it does seem like a very generic shooter. Hopefully there will be memorable scenes, hellish gunfights and so forth

This looks... retro in a non-good way.

Typical CoD, great at simulating the battlefield but ultimately brown and boring

everyon actually wants this to be shit for some reason.
And it won't be shit, just like CoD 3 wasn't. Yeah, not as good as CoD 1 (but neither was CoD 2 or CoD 4), but still much, much better than the vast majority of WWII shooters.

To all the detractors:
1.Of course the enemy would just run at you like that - that was the Japanese tactic, to swarm over everything. Or hide in foxholes/trees, as is ALSO shown in the video. Pretty accurate, if you ask me. Try harder guys.
2. It uses the CoD4 engine, so any criticism you level at the player 'floating' should also be levelled at CoD4, because the player moves in exactly the same way. But you didn't temper your comment with "shit, just like CoD4", leading me to believe you are nitpicking because you WANT to nitpick.
3. It has what looks to be at least one nicely wide and open level, even more wide and open than any of CoD4's.
4. Red dot sight? Red dot sight?!? Might as well say "no frikkin laser beams = fail". Moron.
5. CoD4 was an ultra-scripted single player experience - infinitely respawning enemies, useless AI. Play it on the hardest difficulty setting and it's a very broken game. Lower settings and first playthroughs, it's fantastically cinematic. That first scene in the movie of CoD5 looked very similar to CoD4's methods, so again, seems like people are nitpicking CoD5 but glossing over CoD4, just because they *want* to find fault.
6. Has co-op, so instantly becomes more interesting to me.
If you're going to find fault with the game, find fault WITH THE GAME and also make intelligent comments. Funny how when RARE announce new games people always comment "yeah, but all the good people from RARE left to set up FRD", but no-one seems to think that the supposedly shit people from Treyarch would have moved on or been fired.

hopefully it will be a game that changes your mind when you play it... and you know you will play it just because its CoD5, agreed.

To quote my friend 'casual' paul ''why would I want to swap this call of duty for one that has shitty old guns''
I must admit, my honest answer was 'dunno?'

The flame throwers raised a glimmer of interest but it looks like it's the same old COD, no cover needed, rocket and run.
BAHHHH!!!!!
So many conflicts out there and we still get fucking WW2...

Maybe wait for some footage of the Russian side, then? Doubt that will be very American.
I'm just gonna hazard a guess, though and assume that you're just gonna hate this game no matter what it does or shows.
