    man!!! i hate ww2 weaponry
  • penhalion #3 4 years ago

I seriously had zero interest in playing this while watching the video. It looked like any other WW2 game. The flame thrower added nothing at all and I couldn't make out friend from foe.
  • BravoGolf #4 4 years ago

Wasn't this video released on EG TV already?
  • Ceaser1980 #5 4 years ago

This does nothing for me seems like a step back rather than forward
  • DutchDemons #6 4 years ago

If i could choose a voice, i would definately choose the voice of Kiefer Sutherland!

Game seems pretty ok. flamethrower is nice. But it does seem like a very generic shooter. Hopefully there will be memorable scenes, hellish gunfights and so forth

This is not at all what I had hoped for. It looked like a multiplayer free for all rather than WWII. Hell, it even lacked the cinematic feel of COD4!
  • Iain815 #9 4 years ago

    Was that Jack Bauer? Sold!
  • mattigan #10 4 years ago

No red dot sight = no sale!!!
  • Physically_Insane #11 4 years ago

    It looks worse than COD4!
  • The_Inquisitor #12 4 years ago

This is an old video, saw it months ago.
  • dllord #13 4 years ago

Lets just skip to COD 6 shall we!!!!!
  • Metalfish #14 4 years ago

Looks more than a little unimpressive
  • Skurmedel #15 4 years ago

Classic zombie enemies, as always in Call of Duty games.
  • Rowlsten #16 4 years ago

Flippin eck..... The effects of jack bauer and i suddenly want to play this game. COD4 casting was strong signing up eastenders but this is an impressive move.

I don't care if they only release a new COD game every 4 years. Just leave COD to Infinity Ward and let Treyarch carry on with their shitty movie tie-ins.

Kiefer God damn Sutherland! Your voice rocks!
  • tobsen #19 4 years ago

Wow, looks like the player is a statue floating over the ground. Is it really so hard to at least implement some kind of head bob effect?

This looks... retro in a non-good way.
  • _Price_ #20 4 years ago

Despite everything you've gotta love flamethrowers.
  • Chufty #21 4 years ago

Kiefer Sutherland and possibly Seth Green! \o/

Typical CoD, great at simulating the battlefield but ultimately brown and boring
  • CARL05 #22 4 years ago

since we are playing as the 'invinsible' yanks I wonder if the finale will keep true to history and we'll see the Americans running away leaving the other allies to fight on their own?
  • Davey #23 4 years ago

I love the way everyones already dissing this because it's not infinity ward, and 'another WW2 shooter.' It sells, people will buy it, so they keep making them - and you never know, it may actually be fun. If the multi-player borrows from COD4, im buying it.
  • DUFFKING #24 4 years ago

You people really are determined to be negative aren't you?

everyon actually wants this to be shit for some reason.

And it won't be shit, just like CoD 3 wasn't. Yeah, not as good as CoD 1 (but neither was CoD 2 or CoD 4), but still much, much better than the vast majority of WWII shooters.
  • Metalfish #25 4 years ago

Well, DuffKing, CoD4 has set it up for a fall, really....
  • aids #26 4 years ago

at least it has co-op. how many fps games have co-op these days?
  • Metalfish #27 4 years ago

Aye, co-op makes up for many short-comings in my eyes.
  • caerwyn0 #28 4 years ago

loved cod 2 n still think its the best of the cods but this looks like it can beat it !! LOOKS AWSOME !
  • Fab4 #29 4 years ago

    Really old video EG.
  • 8bitMofo #30 4 years ago

Jack Bauer may save Americas ass every day, but he aint saving this game.
  • Tomo #31 4 years ago

respawning bad guys makes a game series
  • thewolfiv #32 4 years ago

aww and they said they would do something special nothing new here, did COD4 never happen?
  • Darren #33 4 years ago

I think the online co-op alone will be enough to sell this game even to people fed up of WWII shooters. Looks decent enough although it's not exactly a genre that has me jumping up and down with excitement. Better than I expected although EG's poor video quality leaves a lot to be desired compared with other sites like Gamersyde and GameTrailers. High quality video is effectively a low-res one!!!
  • Gl3n #34 4 years ago

Looked pretty cookie cutter... I just have no interest in the WW2 theme now. I think i've probably been saying that for years. The co-op might be good, but the game just looked like a random shoot fest instead of the honed experience Cod4 was. Might pick up when cheap depending on reviews.

    Looks great.

    To all the detractors:

1.Of course the enemy would just run at you like that - that was the Japanese tactic, to swarm over everything. Or hide in foxholes/trees, as is ALSO shown in the video. Pretty accurate, if you ask me. Try harder guys.

    2. It uses the CoD4 engine, so any criticism you level at the player 'floating' should also be levelled at CoD4, because the player moves in exactly the same way. But you didn't temper your comment with "shit, just like CoD4", leading me to believe you are nitpicking because you WANT to nitpick.

    3. It has what looks to be at least one nicely wide and open level, even more wide and open than any of CoD4's.

    4. Red dot sight? Red dot sight?!? Might as well say "no frikkin laser beams = fail". Moron.

    5. CoD4 was an ultra-scripted single player experience - infinitely respawning enemies, useless AI. Play it on the hardest difficulty setting and it's a very broken game. Lower settings and first playthroughs, it's fantastically cinematic. That first scene in the movie of CoD5 looked very similar to CoD4's methods, so again, seems like people are nitpicking CoD5 but glossing over CoD4, just because they *want* to find fault.

    6. Has co-op, so instantly becomes more interesting to me.

If you're going to find fault with the game, find fault WITH THE GAME and also make intelligent comments. Funny how when RARE announce new games people always comment "yeah, but all the good people from RARE left to set up FRD", but no-one seems to think that the supposedly shit people from Treyarch would have moved on or been fired.

cod4s lack of co op was a big dissapointment for me
i will buy this if the reveiws are positive.
  • Fab4 #38 4 years ago

Good to see so many gobshites arent getting it...we might get a return to the CoD3 community spirit, rather than the Halo-esque pantomime that CoD4 became.
  • Mr_Brown #39 4 years ago

I love how all the journalists are acting optimistic about this game, when it looks average at best, with the tired and over done return to WW2. No matter what you show us, it is never going to be interesting. They messed up big time.
  • Talbot #40 4 years ago

No British = Automatic Fail for me.
  • Enkeixpress #41 4 years ago

I would like it more if it was in the modern era
  • brinlarden #42 4 years ago

i will buy this simply because its CALL OF FUCKING DUTY.
wait, actualy there wont be any cpt. price or mcgregor. shit.
    not buying this then.
  • makeamazing #43 4 years ago

    That looks pretty cool.
  • FWB #44 4 years ago

So setting fire to stuff is the new volumetric smoke?
  • Davemanz #45 4 years ago

Why is this on the front page? This video is almost a month old now. Anyway it looks sort of fun.
  • 57th_FoX #46 4 years ago

This will be AS awesome as the others. they must have learn from their mistakes... take CoD3.
hopefully it will be a game that changes your mind when you play it... and you know you will play it just because its CoD5, agreed.
  • john_silence #47 4 years ago

Man my new soundcard sounds nice.
  • Anthony_UK #48 4 years ago

Looks good, i'll be picking it up for one! But I think the whole WW2 thing rather than done to death, sadly just doesn't get the 20 somethings blood pumping as much an a M4 rife with red dot scope in a semi Iraqi setting......

To quote my friend 'casual' paul ''why would I want to swap this call of duty for one that has shitty old guns''

I must admit, my honest answer was 'dunno?'
  • Fab4 #49 4 years ago

AK-47 is a shitty old gun, as is the MP44...yet they kick the ass of most guns in CoD4. What your friend 'casual' paul means "Why should I be bothered learning how to aim?"
  • richcz3 #50 4 years ago

Wow that's unfortunate. Looks more like COD 3.5. I'm just not seeing it coming together.
  • TUTSSEL #51 4 years ago

Treyarch have cocked it all up yet again how could you possibly ruin what was to be a great series of games just proves that infinity ward are far superior, admitinly i will buy it but i can tell you i wont be impressed as i was with modern warfare
  • BobsUncle #52 4 years ago

  • GitSomE_UK #53 4 years ago

Load of old bollocks, COD 3.5.

The flame throwers raised a glimmer of interest but it looks like it's the same old COD, no cover needed, rocket and run.

    BAHHHH!!!!!

So many conflicts out there and we still get fucking WW2...
  • lolife.se #54 4 years ago

I'm so fucking tired of that voice... BLEH!
  • Sneerk #55 4 years ago

Looks predictable and unoriginal, patriotic and american, repetative and boring.
It'll proabaly shift a shitload of copies though.
  • bioreit #56 4 years ago

    @sneerk

Maybe wait for some footage of the Russian side, then? Doubt that will be very American.

I'm just gonna hazard a guess, though and assume that you're just gonna hate this game no matter what it does or shows.
  • Fab4 #57 4 years ago

Perish the thought of a game with the title of Call of Duty being patriotic...what the fuck were they thinking?

I want my Kar98k bolt action!!!!!!
  • gehn #59 4 years ago

so far i am not impressed with what i have seen. does not look like it comes anywhere near COD4. They seriously have got alot to live up to. cant stand the arm holding the gun, looks prostetic and yes i know it's not real! Hope Cod6 returns to modern times...and with infinity ward.

Over 10 million copies of CoD4 sold, do they think we will just put our weapons down. Forget CoD5 and then it’s only a mater of time! Cod6 Counter Attack………
