    Looks fantastic!
  • billythekid #2 1 year ago

    Well worth £15/month!
  • Moonprince #3 1 year ago

Yeah wow. People are expected to pay for this? Seriously?
  • LeChuckie #4 1 year ago

Well I'm looking forward to when this becomes the standard and free with all other games. Should be interesting then.
  • silversun #5 1 year ago

i dont play call of duty as much as other i know do , they might be intrested in it but for me this reminds me of halo waypoint.
On another note it an intresting this to see they doing this with call of duty as its being long time comming , reguardless if its a good or bad thing.
  • deadduckz #6 1 year ago

hahahaha, most people wont be bothered by this... only hardcore players with skill

Fucking hell that is depressing, the VoiceOver guy sums COD up for perfectly

"we've got this like new feature which is totally f'n rad where you can join clans online. It's totally sick like having your headset turned into a sticky grenade. It's like totally cool"

No sign of any actual in game content, nearer to a £50 year Halo Waypoint crossed with Rockstar Social Club. Both of which are just standard gratis community features for their fans from R* and Bungie. Acti on the other hand rewards our passion to their product with more charging.

    Pay-for community features? Check
THE most expensive map packs? Check
Inflated RRP for no good reason? Check

I guess how Acti are financially struggling justifies all this though. It's a niche product that's clearly a labour of love videogame art so they need to find ways to offset the huge development costs...4 years in production, brand new engine, dedicated servers.

    Oh wait.

The worst thing of it all..

This advert thinks it's really funny.
  • Moonprince #9 1 year ago

Chuck - Need for Speed pretty much has this system.

    And it was free.
  • Razz #10 1 year ago

Huh? I quite enjoyed that advert. :D I don't play CoD but this was fun to watch.
  • richardiox #11 1 year ago

If only 5% of the current player base opted for a feature like this and it was charged at £5/month they would bring in about £50million each year. They'd also have the card details of all these users for other microtransactions.

I'm sure we used to have this in the late 90's
It was called a Mod Community i'm fairly sure it used to be free !

    Oh dear oh dear :(

I personally don't think I'll be going for this. I mean, I'm cheap...

I can already use Facebook/MSN/PS3 Chat/Xbox Messages to organise a multiplayer event. Stats don't really bother me. I like to play for the fun factor.

The only part I found interesting was the video uploaded. I like being creative in that respect...

Thats my two cents on the matter.
  • jumpdeveraux #15 1 year ago

    3 immediate questions arise:

    1. Are all these events hosted on locally (or near local) Activision provided servers?
    2. They state "real" rewards but the law on competition prizes varies quite considerably by country - e.g. giving away money prizes. Blizzard had the same issue with their Arena matches in terms of being unable to provide certain types of prizes, or prizes at all in some geographies - if I can't win a prize in my country it dimishes the value of the subscription.
    3. How are they handling cheat protection - every COD game has been hacked to death on or near day of release and their cheat protection post launch has been woefully inadequate. Are they substantially improving their banhammer - as real life prizes is an even bigger incentive to develop even more effective hacks (and it will make leaderboards worthless)

Well, this video worked magnificently... at reminding me why I never play CoD online.
  • LetsGo #17 1 year ago

I really don't understand what the fuss is about. If you don't like it, don't pay for it, simple as that.

The public will decide if this is a success or not, if they stop playing and go to BF3, this service will be free soon.

If not and people pay for it then good on Acti on making a good business decision?
  • Timbercottage #18 1 year ago

Wow, loads of features that other games offer completely for free! Can't wait! of course, idiots will pay for it and it will be classified as a success!

    /Obligatory - Fuck you Kotick.
  • evild_edd #19 1 year ago

Doesn't Halo and the Bungie sites pretty much do all this? For free?
  • jablonski #20 1 year ago

Nice of them to steal 'The Expendables' logo too

What a giant pile of fail!
  • Machetazo #23 1 year ago

What was learned from that? IW have been on conference call for the last twelve months with THQ. Stat tracking, maps? Bungie already did it, but they still couldn't convince me Halo was worth it, after 2.
  • deadstoned #24 1 year ago

Was only a matter of time before Kotick got his monthly subscription wish. Looks like all the 13/14 year old customers will be lapping this up.

I'm not paying for Bungie pro, which is faaar cheaper... no way in hell I'm giving actigreedson more money...
  • kinth #26 1 year ago

    @deadduckz

surely a skiillfull player doesnt need to study endless stats to be good.

this is for people with more money than sense.

its beasically bungie.net but you have to pay for it. jeez even steam has a lot of these features.

TBH if they allowed proper mods for this game all of this could probably be tracked through a mod.
  • Haloboy #27 1 year ago

Fuck me that was painful to watch. I think I may go and lay down a while.
  • OrangesJoel #28 1 year ago

Do all Blops characters have that vacant slackjawed full frontal lobotomy patient look, or is it just that particular model?
  • Drygore #29 1 year ago

Hahaha! That was fun! I seriously laughed several times. As usual people here act so fucking uptight and are so obviously anti-cod. Pathetic as usual. Im not exactly pro-cod myself, i played some black ops intensly for a semi-short period of time then got fed up. But this clip got my interrest back (on PC this time though). Great clip, loved the chopper and MW3 stuff at the end! Haha.
  • Drygore #30 1 year ago

I must ask, this uptightness and all the negative comments that every other comment consists of, is that a Brittish thing or? Really big difference between Sweden and the UK when it comes to comments on gaming sites. A shame really. Neg away, i don't mind at all :-) Cheers!
  • DirectAim #31 1 year ago

Drygore, you're totally right! The video was funny and made me laugh.

Everyone complains about CoD being full of 13/14 year old kids, which is so true, but you have to give it to Acti, they earn more money than everyone else, they shift more units that any other game and will obviously turn an overpriced online stats feature into a pay monthly monster earner. So what if its full of kids? get Battlefield and play a proper game!

I play CoD now and then but I am a big fan of Battlefield, just so you know.
  • NeverWinter78 #32 1 year ago

Wow I made it about 3 mins in and got as bored as theLegendofKARL sounded. No way am I paying for this. Here's hoping this is the final bullet that kills COD games off so FPS can move on instead of tring to copy them
