Call of Duty 4 - Fire modes

Published 9 July, 2007 Duration 0:54

Rather than doing what we tend to when you acquire a tasty new fully-automatic weapon: running around like a headless chicken and spraying bullets everywhere, why not adopt COD 4's professional 'double tap' burst fire mode?

Yes, I don't understand. I see no consistent length to the bursts, so I doubt this is a fire mode as such. The moral of the video is...don't hold the trigger down and spam shots pointlessly? I think anyone who's played any kind of FPS ever already knows that. As for calling it "double tap" when he's firing about ten shots a burst, from a weapon that inherently lacks the ability to be especially precise (note also how the stock is not unfolded) ...ridiculous.

EDIT: hang about, isn't this some kind of fancy name for an autoaim button?

pointless video, double tap can be done in any 1st person shooter. This video shows nothing new.

Double tapping means putting two rounds through the center of mass of your target (optimally the sternum and heart) in order to incapacitate your target. Two shots hitting in close proximity cause quite a mess, especially the second hit since, optimally, the tissues and organs aren't quite where they should be.

This allows the third shot to be aimed at the head in the Mozambique drill.

For an example, check out the scene in Collateral where Tom Cruise dispatches the two would-be muggers.

chest-chest, switch target, chest-chest head, switch target back, head.

    Yeah, double-tap?
The IDF standardly loads Uzi magazines with every other round a phosphorous tracer round. So much for accuracy.

You guys are all morons double tap is a perk which increases the rate of fire on multiplayer.
