We knew you loved Tim Schafer, but the outpourings of emotion and unadulterated love in the comments on last week's interview surprised even us. Here's his new project, rescued by EA from the dust of the Activision/Blizzard merger, Brütal Legend.

The umlaut in the name makes it sound you say it in a scottish accent!

Abrakadabra: the metal umlaut is always cosmetic, and does not affect pronounciation in any way. If it did, the ü would be sound sorta like a thin, sharp Y: Brytal Legend.

This trailer put me a big smile on my face, it is a must-have for me, the one game I look most forward to (and has been for a while). I hope the gameplay is able to match the massive amounts of awsomeness on display here.

When people say; "it looks like an |insert whatever previous generation console here| game" they should be forced to write a 100,000 word dissertation with cross-comparison diagrams showing exactly how they arrived at that conclusion.

STOP THAT SHIT RIGHT NOW!

1) PS2 has a shedload of great games, so it's not like it is an effective diss in the first place.

2) "Oh, Casablanka is a shitty movie since it uses standard definition format, The Ten Commandments must be great since it uses Cinemascope." Content does not become better by throwing more polygons at the screen, or do someone honestly believe that e.g. Cryo's various adventure games are better than Monkey Island I & II because they used purtier graphics?

Here's to hoping it is actually fun to play and not as crap as Snakes on a Plane was (the point being that was an awesome sounding concept that ended up weak). I'm surprised they had to ask JB to be in it though - after seeing a few Tenacious D videos you'd think this game was his idea.

even if the the game play turns out to be a little generic, it looks like it may have a decent comic story behind it.

And this is where gaming on the whole is heading. you can't keep inventing new game mechanics for ever.
The more games that use tried and tested formulars and then add a decently crafted story the better imoa
