The team manipulation stuff looks pretty slick actually, might add an interesting dimension to the way missions are approached. Had a distinctly "Company of Heroes" feel tot the squad stuff, looks like that guy who was interviewed, who said they were trying to do something different with this one, was right!

    /cautious optimism.

Looks pretty much identical to the first one, which was pretty gash. Pretty though.

looks like a more tactical cod, but could be good as long as it's not too monotonous

I see in this video there's now a circle appearing showing where your grenade is going to land.

    Thank. Fuck.

I grew tired in the previous games of having to sneak up on an enemy flank and throw a grenade only to find it lands straight in front of you or is thrown much further than you wanted it too.

Anyway, looking forward to this. Best thing about BIA isn't this 'hoo-rah' attitude seen in WWII games but is much more akin to Band of Brothers.

Hope you can turn that slow-mo death cam off. Just doesn't seem appropriate to me.

Horses for courses I think. I thought the first one was a breath of fresh air, but was a very different kind of game to the resat of the WW2 pack.

Hmmm, not at all sure about that little "haunted by memories" bit.

I'm going to like this game so immensely much more than the first two, which were unfinished drecks as far as gameplay and visual style were concerned. Enthusiasm.

    Cautious optimism here too...

Looks essentially similar to the previous games with a few improvements and a few new niggles. IMO the good stuff outweighs the bad stuff.

    Bad stuff:
Looks too easy to kill enemies behind cover - could this be a quirk of the difficulty level? I hope so.
Ordering teams to run through the open in front of several enemy units and not giving them ANY covering fire, yet they remain unscathed - this must be down to easy difficulty, surely...
That slo-mo death zoom is awful, I'm praying for an off-switch.
Story still looks like a load of mawkish, self-pitying drivel. I'll ignore it, as in the previous games.
Randy Pitchford, why won't you reload?

    Good stuff:
Sprinting, more accurate grenades, info on your teams' status - these seem like useful, practical additions.
Not sure how good the stealthy play will be, but at least having the option to hold your fire and decide when to engage is welcome (in the previous games, your men would always shoot on sight).
Your teams now seem much more efficient at finishing exposed enemies.
Was dubious on reading about a 3rd-person snap-to-cover system, but seeing it in action it seems you can now give team orders without sticking your head up into a hail of bullets, so it's a good thing.
Looking at the menu, looks like the chapters are split up by checkpoints, great if you fancy playing a particular set-piece. And you can finally skip the movie scenes - hallelujah!

Doesn't look like it's going to do much to convert anyone, but I think it looks pretty good for BiA fans.
